Chapter 229: Chapter 229: Famous Again

The Quidditch defeat had plunged the entire Gryffindor House into a low ebb. The enthusiasm they had for competing for the Quidditch Cup and the House Cup vanished all at once. It was fortunate that the Quidditch match was intense, and the Gryffindor team held their ground against the Ravenclaw team, silencing some of the critics and dissatisfaction towards the new players.

The Weasley twins' spirits were not high, but they continued to brave the snow and storms to go to the pitch for training every week.

All these changes had little impact on Albert, and his life at Hogwarts remained relatively unchanged.

In the days following the match, there were some new incidents at the school. Professor Pomona Sprout finally discovered that a pot of Mandrakes was missing from Greenhouse Three.

However, no one knew who took the Mandrakes. Some believed it was Peeves, planning to throw them into the Great Hall to entertain everyone.

Administrator Filch was vigorously investigating the matter, trying to catch Peeves red-handed and expel him from the castle.

No one connected this incident with the sobbing heard in the castle half a month ago, except for Snape. The Potions Master's temper was still unpleasant, and he spent a lot of effort but could never find the troublemaker. Moreover, he discovered that three precious materials were missing from his storage during one of his potion brewing sessions.

"Someone is preparing a complex potion?" Snape immediately deduced from the unicorn horn and African tree-snake skin fragments that the thief intended to do something specific. However, he didn't associate the missing Rune-Spotted Snargaluff eggs with the Babbling Beverage; he wouldn't have stopped anyone from turning their brains into a giant if they desired.

Albert, on the other hand, was interested in storing some complex potions. With these potions, he could impersonate others much more conveniently, especially when he wanted to enter the black market without being recognized.

However, manufacturing complex potions was very time-consuming, and he suspected that Snape might be keeping an eye on it. After all, he had deliberately diverted Snape's attention to this matter in the first place.

Time passed, and by late November, another Quidditch match was scheduled at the end of the month.

The situation did not look promising; Slytherin defeated Hufflepuff with an absolute score advantage. Despite the efforts of Hufflepuff's new Seeker, Digory, he appeared helpless against Slytherin's encirclement, like a small cat in a blizzard.

The victory of the Slytherin team was undoubtedly bad news for Gryffindor. Most students would have preferred to see Hufflepuff win.

Unfortunately, cheering couldn't help Hufflepuff secure the final victory.

The House points and Quidditch match lead of Slytherin restored their confidence, and they didn't hold back in mocking Gryffindor.

"This is so frustrating!" Fred even bent his quill in anger.

"What if we..." George made a tapping motion, wishing to give those Slytherin players who were showing off in front of them a memorable lesson.

"Not worth it," Lee Jordan said with pleasure.

"Don't be like this," Fred protested.

"Professor Snape is still watching," Albert reminded them. "It would be even more trouble if we got caught. Besides, it's snowing now."

"Cedar mushrooms," he reminded them.

"Oh, right."

Seeing that Albert was unwilling to help, Fred and the others felt a bit helpless. Without Albert's ideas, the probability of pulling off a silent prank on those people was not that high.

Although they all liked causing mischief and wanted to get back at those guys, they definitely didn't want Snape's attention on them.

"I just overheard them discussing something," after Fred and the others left, Shanna sat down across from Albert and placed a magazine titled "Mastering Practical Potions" in front of Albert with a smile, "Congratulations."

"Congratulations for what?" Albert was puzzled, looking at Shanna.

"Your paper," Shanna reminded, "made it into the magazine, 'Mastering Practical Potions.'"

"Oh, I think I haven't submitted the paper yet," Albert said after thinking for a moment. He did write one, but he hadn't sent it in yet.

"Your name is indeed there, Albert Anderson," Shanna looked at Albert skeptically, opened the magazine, and flipped to Albert's paper, pointing at it.

"Oh, I think I know what's going on," Albert flipped through "Mastering Practical Potions" and immediately understood. Apparently, someone had helped him with it; the paper was revised based on his draft.

It seemed that they had mentioned it before.

However, Albert didn't really care much about these things; after all, he was already quite famous.

If "Mastering Practical Potions" offered payment for contributions, he might have been more enthusiastic.

Unfortunately, they didn't pay.

The magazine was an academic publication jointly organized by a group of Potion Masters to expand their influence. Essentially, it was something a small circle played with to boost their reputations.

Of course, it still held some authority in the field of potion-making.

After all, the potions in "Mastering Practical Potions" were indeed very practical, so the contributors' reputations were quite good.

However, Albert himself didn't plan to delve into this field, so he viewed it with indifference.

But such an attitude was quite exceptional in Shanna's eyes. She thought very few people could be so calm about it.

At this moment, someone else approached and placed another magazine on their table.

Albert and Shanna looked up at the newcomer while chatting casually.

"Your paper got selected," Katrina pointed to "Innovative Spells" on the table.

"The new issue is out?" Albert asked in confusion. He remembered that he had subscribed to this magazine too.

"It came out the day before yesterday," Katrina said. "Congratulations! You've now had papers published in both 'Transfiguration Today' and 'Innovative Spells.' I dare say that's unprecedented at Hogwarts."

Shanna was stunned for a while and then smiled at Katrina, "Actually, you didn't know, but Anderson has also had a paper published in 'Mastering Practical Potions,' and that magazine is right here."

"Perhaps you can surpass Headmaster Dumbledore and become another legend," Katrina mumbled. "Isabel said the Headmaster used to be a very talented genius."

"With all these compliments, I might feel embarrassed," Albert said, but there was no trace of embarrassment on his face.

"Anyway, congratulations," Katrina gave Albert a slight glare before turning around to leave. "By the way, Professor Flitwick is looking for you; it's probably about this matter."
