On the other side, Albert and Katrina were on their way to the seventh floor, just like the last time they went to the Transfiguration Club. However, this time, their positions were reversed.
"No need, just tell me where the 17th classroom is," Albert said, rejecting Katrina's attempt to speak and stopping her from saying what she had in mind.
"Are you sure? Fine, follow me then," Katrina replied with some resentment, seeming a bit annoyed, but she still led him along the corridor.
They stopped in front of a statue of a middle-aged witch, which was the entrance to the 17th classroom.
"Albert Tussell," Katrina introduced Albert, "Champion of the 15th-century All-England Wizard Duel."
"Ancient times? How many people were there in England, and how many wizards?" Albert remarked.
"What are you trying to say?" Katrina asked.
"People should think long-term," Albert said. "Don't be like Tom."
"Tom?"
Albert smirked and said, "My cat at home."
"Can't you speak in more understandable terms?" Katrina felt that this guy had something to say, but she couldn't quite grasp his point.
In fact, Albert knew about this person, Albert Tussell, who won the championship with the Blast Curse in a competition.
As for how he knew this name?
Of course, it was when he was searching for information related to the Blast Curse and coincidentally came across an introduction to Albert Tussell. Due to his strong memory, he remembered the name.
"How do we get in?" Albert asked Katrina.
"We need a password."
"A password? You don't mean... the password is 'Blast Curse'?" Albert looked at Katrina suspiciously.
"You actually knew." Katrina was completely surprised that Albert had guessed it.
"It is indeed the Blast Curse," Albert said, and the witch statue at the entrance moved to the side, revealing a hidden entrance.
As he walked in, he found himself in a spacious classroom. The environment here was similar to the Transfiguration Club, with chairs arranged in a semi-circular pattern.
Hmm, Albert also spotted a familiar face.
"Feel free to take any seat," Katrina said as she walked towards Izabel, leaving Albert waiting by the entrance.
Although she said that, there were only sixteen chairs in reality.
A few people were sizing Albert up, but he paid no attention to their gaze and walked to a less crowded area to sit down, waiting for the gathering to begin.
As it approached three o'clock, members of the Sorcery Club gradually arrived. There were more members in the Sorcery Club than in the Transfiguration Club, a total of sixteen people.
Albert also noticed a few familiar faces—Terence Higgs from Slytherin, the substitute Seeker he had a confrontation with last semester, who played fair and according to the rules. Albert had a good impression of him.
Another familiar face was Gabriel Truman from Hufflepuff.
"So, you were also invited," Truman said with a smile as he entered the classroom and walked over to greet Albert.
"I hope Professor Flitwick isn't going to lecture us on 'Innovative Sorcery' again," Albert glanced at the academic journal in Truman's hand and asked tentatively.
"You knew that?" Truman was quite surprised.
Albert was speechless for a moment, feeling that the Sorcery Club was indeed quite similar to the Transfiguration Club.
"Don't worry; if you don't have that journal, you can borrow it from Professor Flitwick," Truman reassured Albert with a pat on the shoulder. "Besides, most of the time, we do practical spellcasting here."
Before three o'clock, Professor Flitwick arrived early at the 17th classroom. He stood on a high chair and spoke face to face with everyone.
"Firstly, we welcome a new member. His name is Albert Anderson." As Flitwick pronounced Albert's name, he suddenly let out a scream, and his body exploded, releasing numerous fireworks and ribbons, startling everyone.
The next moment, Professor Flitwick reappeared, and applause filled the classroom.
"Is the welcoming ceremony always like this?" Albert whispered.
"No, you're quite special this time," Truman said with a smile and joined the applause.
Professor Flitwick clapped his hands twice, capturing everyone's attention, and then said, "Our topic for today is the Non-Verbal Charm."
"I know that most of you are still unfamiliar with the use of Non-Verbal Charms." As the room fell silent, Professor Flitwick continued, "This course is usually taught in your sixth year during the Advanced Charms class."
"Of course, Non-Verbal Charms are not as difficult as you might imagine."
"What are the benefits of mastering Non-Verbal Charms?"
"By casting spells without speaking the incantation out loud, you can achieve a surprising effect," Professor Flitwick answered his own question.
"Some wizards believe that using Non-Verbal Charms weakens the power of the spell, and they are reluctant to use them." Professor Flitwick grinned, "As you all know, these wizards are just making excuses for themselves."
Many people couldn't help but laugh.
"Many wizards find Non-Verbal Charms too difficult, mainly because they lack the concentration and willpower needed when using them."
"Let me tell you a secret," Professor Flitwick said mysteriously, "Highly skilled wizards are usually adept at Non-Verbal Charms; it's one of their essential skills."
"Now, everyone, try it out. Use the magic you are best at," Professor Flitwick addressed everyone. "Don't make any sound; simply recite the incantation in your mind. Cheating serves no purpose. Let's begin."
While everyone practiced, Professor Flitwick moved among them, observing the students silently practicing, occasionally offering a few pointers.
Albert noticed that Truman beside him kept his mouth tightly shut, and he felt like laughing. It seemed that Truman was struggling with some temptation, trying not to utter the incantation out loud.
Albert tried to focus as much as possible, eliminating all external distractions, silently reciting "Lumos," and waving his wand.
Well, he succeeded.
The situation didn't seem as difficult as he had imagined, but Albert wasn't sure how much time had passed. However, he had indeed managed to illuminate his wand without making a sound.
"You succeeded?" Truman's amazed expression replaced the bewilderment, as he stared dumbfoundedly at Albert. It never occurred to Truman that Albert could easily succeed in using a Non-Verbal Lumos Charm.
Although the Lumos Charm wasn't too challenging of a spell, it wasn't something that could be easily accomplished, especially for lower-grade students.
"Yeah, it wasn't as difficult as I thought, but it requires practice and more practice," Albert said, realizing that he still couldn't use the Lumos Charm non-verbally.
