"The Disillusionment Charm should last for a few hours, possibly shorter. The effect will gradually fade, so be aware of any changes on your bodies," Albert reminded Fred when he cast the Disillusionment Charm. "If the spell wears off and you get caught, don't rat me out."

"I have confidence in you. After all, you dared to use it on yourself," Fred shrugged it off. In his opinion, if Albert was willing to use it on himself, then the spell's effectiveness was guaranteed.

"Filch has indeed been awakened. He's already up and preparing to catch people," George, who had been keeping an eye on the Marauder's Map, quickly informed them.

"Have you spotted any other professors?" Albert inquired. He still had a task related to Filch, and if it was only Filch alone, Albert had no qualms about completing his task on the side.

"Not at the moment. Filch should search the third floor first, so we'll go to the fourth floor and create some commotion. When the time comes..."

After a brief huddle and discussion, the three of them began to act according to their original plan.

On the third-floor corridor, Filch, wearing a thick cloak, was in an extremely foul mood. He realized that once again, he had missed his targets. Those students who sneaked out for nighttime adventures had disappeared without a trace, and even Peeves was nowhere to be found.

Filch quickly regained his composure because he heard a series of hurried footsteps, and the sound was coming from nearby.

That person was still in the vicinity, and there was no escaping.

Gritting his teeth, Filch chased after, and as he turned a corner, he even caught a glimpse of a disappearing light.

"You can't run away," Filch muttered to himself, gripping the oil lamp tightly as he continued the pursuit.

However, as Filch chased after, he found that he had actually lost his target.

Yes, lost!

Filch could guarantee with his hand on his heart that there were absolutely no secret passages nearby. Where on earth did that infuriating person hide?

"What is this?" Filch took a few steps forward and suddenly felt that he had stepped on something. Moving his foot aside and shining the lamp down, his face immediately darkened.

He had stepped on a dung bomb!

Filch angrily raised his head, holding the lamp aloft as he scanned the surroundings, searching for the prankster who had played him.

However, Filch was completely unaware that the person he was looking for was crouched in a corner of the corridor, desperately trying to hold back laughter and not make a sound.

There was no doubt that Albert's Disillusionment Charm had successfully fooled Filch's eyes.

Filch didn't linger in the same spot for too long because he heard the sound of armor falling from the upper floor.

Had that person run upstairs?

Could there be a secret passage nearby that he didn't know about?

"Impossible."

Filch believed that there was no one who knew Hogwarts' secret passages better than himself.

He angrily hurried in the direction of the sound, muttering under his breath, "You can't escape. I'm going to string you up and give you a good whipping."

Once Filch's footsteps faded into the distance, Fred finally let out a big breath, feeling like he had been suffocating from holding it in.

Filch swiftly made his way through the secret passage and arrived at the fourth-floor corridor, where he only found a helmet lying on the ground.

It was the source of the sound he had heard.

As Filch walked over, he caught a familiar stench.

That's right, the smell of dung bombs. One had landed on his boot. As soon as Filch realized this, he immediately chased after the direction ahead.

He knew he had been played.

Was it those annoying students or Peeves?

"Peeves, come out! I know it's you causing trouble. Come out!" Filch's face turned red, looking like a volcano about to erupt. Fred, hiding nearby, excitedly watched Filch disappear without considering the fact that he could easily shift the blame to Peeves.

This was a good thing.

After all, neither side was any good, and it would be best if they ended up fighting each other.

On another corridor, Albert closed his pocket watch and estimated the time. As he was about to use magic to create a popping sound and leave the scene, he suddenly heard hurried footsteps approaching.

"Oh no."

Albert quickly held his breath and hid in a corner.

A few seconds later, a pale light appeared within Albert's field of vision. Professor Baud Broadd, wearing a purple cloak, was walking toward him. He raised his wand, scanning the surroundings, and his gaze lingered for a moment where Albert was hiding.

This was bad. Albert felt his heart rate quicken. He wasn't sure if his Disillusionment Charm could deceive Professor Broadd.

Filch was also rushing over in this direction.

"Professor, have you heard any noises?" Filch said, his face filled with annoyance. "There are students sneaking around at night, and I believe there's more than one of them."

Albert caught a whiff of a foul smell. He swore that this was definitely the work of the Weasley twins. They had thrown dung bombs at Filch.

"There are students sneaking around at night?" Professor Broadd raised an eyebrow and glanced at Albert's position before speaking, "I didn't see anyone. I came to check after hearing the noise. What happened to your boots?"

"Dung bombs. It's likely Peeves did it. That rascal is invisible," Filch explained, frustrated.

"Peeves?" Professor Broadd repeated with a meaningful tone. He gently waved his wand, cleaning the dirt off Filch's boots.

"Thank you," Filch said gratefully.

"You're welcome. You go that way to search, and I'll go this way. If it was students causing the commotion, they can't have gone too far," Professor Broadd pointed in another direction.

"Alright, we must catch them tonight," Filch said as he turned around and headed towards the corner, while Professor Broadd also turned and left.

Albert faintly heard Professor Broadd's voice, saying, "Let this not happen again."

Albert didn't think it was his imagination. Professor Broadd had indeed noticed him. However, the professor had let him go, which surprised Albert.

After the two had left, Albert cautiously made his way to the predetermined meeting place with the Weasley twins.

On second thought, why did Professor Broadd suddenly appear? Could he be the person who entered the Room of Requirement?

Albert didn't dwell on it further. He dismissed the other thoughts from his mind and carefully headed towards the rendezvous point.

"Are you alright?" George asked with concern. "I just saw Professor Broadd as well. Did he see through your Disillusionment Charm?"

"No, he did see through it. However, he let me go," Albert said helplessly. "Tell Fred to hurry back. We need to go to the eighth floor."

"Why the eighth floor?" George asked, puzzled.

"To go to the Room of Requirement. We should be able to enter now. If we can, we'll hide there for a while until Filch goes back to rest. Then we can go to the library," Albert wanted to confirm if the person in the Room of Requirement earlier was indeed Professor Broadd.

"Alright," George understood that it was time to call it a night. They had caused enough trouble.

"Where did you and Fred arrange to meet?"

"He's coming soon," George replied.

"Albert, are you okay?" Shortly after, Fred arrived, rushing to them and asking with concern.

"I'm fine. Let's leave this place first," Albert interrupted. "Filch is still looking for us. And of course, there's Professor Broadd. The Disillusionment Charm doesn't fool his eyes."
