Chapter 26: Humans vary, but most are weak (5)

(Veiw change, back to Brine)

We are now back at the manor, we enter the manor and as soon as I walk in, I collapse to the ground and clutch my head hard with both hands and start to scream "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, FUCK FUCK FUCK DAMN WHAT IS THIS, IT HURTS SO MUCH, BY THE GODS MAKE IT STOOOP!" I now have an enormous headache that came out of nowhere.

It feels as if something is trying to claw its way out of my head or as if my head is trying to explode. Kevik, Lano, Lucy, and Will all come running up to me and asking me what's wrong and if I'm okay. I try to speak but it doesn't come out well "I-I d-don't k..ow...wh...t... is...happ...ing...to....m...help.....me, ma..e...i....stop."

Lano looks at Kevik as if asking something who nods at him in response "My lord, I am going to put you to sleep using a spell, this should ease the pain, just rest for now and we will try to find out what is wrong while you sleep, hopefully you will be better by tomorrow. I say "O-Ok, g..a...ead....a...do...it, I-I trust you."

Lano then begins to chant "By the power of the Sandman, god of dreams and bringer of peace, I call upon thy to give me, a mere mortal, the blessing of your power, to put thou before me into a slumber, ENFORCED SLEEP!" I then fall to the ground completely but Lano catches me and gives me a smile as if telling me everything will be alright.

Then my eyes shut and the darkness arrives as I fall to sleep.

Meanwhile somewhere in a dark void in a bedroom, Shadow Beast and Darkious are playing Shogi when all of the sudden Darkious shouts "FUCK, I LOST AGAIN, YOUR TOO DAMN GOOD AT THIS!" The Shadow Beast lets out a booming laughter and then says "Yes bow before the master hahaha, you shall never beat me at Shogi!"

Darkious clicks his tongue and then begins to say "Mark my word, I will beat you eventually, let's see you have that smug expression when that time co-" They both then get up from the table so fast that the board falls to the ground and makes a small mess in the room. Darkious says "Do you feel that too?"

The Shadow Beast nods and then says "It appears we have an unexpected visitor." Darkious nods and is about to say something but the Shadow Beast stops him and then says "Wanna see if I can scare him hehe." Darkious says "I doubt it, he doesn't even have the feeling of fear." The Shadow Beast grins and then says,

"But he has been getting emotions back lately, who knows maybe fear is back, alright how about this, who ever is wrong has to cook dinner today, do you agree to that bet?" Darkious grins and says "Alright I accept that bet." The Shadow Beast is now full on smiling and says "Well then lets just see who's wrong about this."

The Shadow Beast then seeps into the floor of the bedroom, disappearing from the sight of Darkious. Meanwhile, back to Brine, who is in a dark void now. I say "Ah, this place again, I guess I know who I'm going to meet here then." I pause for a moment as I just noticed something "Wait, is that a house in the distance?"

I see a house in the distance, I decide to go to it and head inside since I don't see the Shadow Man anywhere, I can only assume that he is going to be in that house waiting for me. I enter the house as soon as I get up to it and I notice a piece of paper attached to the wall next to the door I entered. The paper says "Please take off any shoes you may be wearing before coming any further inside."

I take off my shoes like the paper said as I don't want to be rude. I then walk a bit further into the house and as soon as I take two more steps, a giant mist creature comes our of the ground and enlarges its head and shows its pointy teeth roars at me, "ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH." The mist creature's body returns to normal and then it says "So did I scare ya at all?"

I say nonchalantly "Nope, I don't feel fear." The mist creature sighs and says "Damn it." A chuckle is heard from behind the mist creature and then a voice says "Whelp, it looks like your making dinner Shadow Beast." The Shadow Beast sighs again and says "Alright, a bet is a bet, I'll make dinner, tell me what you want later."

The person speaking comes out from behind the hallway behind the Shadow Beast and says "Now then, what are you doing here Brine?" It is the Shadow Man who said that and came out from behind the Shadow Beast, I stand there confused for a moment before saying "Wait, I thought you knew, after all I don't even know how to get here except that you used to bring me here in my sleep."

The Shadow Man says "Hmm, no I didn't pull you in here this time, do you remember what happened before you arrived here and fell asleep?" I say "Yeah, I went through a shit ton of pain out of nowhere in my head, it was extremely bad." The Shadow Beast says "Wait, could it be a symptom of 'that'?"

The Shadow Man says "It's a possibility but what could it mean, after all the question is how did 'that' even come to exist in the first place?" I am getting confused so I say "Can someone please just tell me what exactly 'that' is?" Then they both seem to get worried and flustered and the Shadow Man says "N-Nothing, don't worry about it, it's not that important."

I finally decide to ask the question that I should have asked from the beginning "ALSO WHO OR WHAT THE HELL IS THIS GIANT PURPLE MIST!" The Shadow Beast grins very creepily before saying "Oh I'm gonna love explaining this to ya, hehehe and with how you are now you might love listening to it as well."
