Chapter 59: A Dangerous Juncture

Ian grabbed Madeline by the wrist and rushed into the room. When he saw me lying on the table, he angrily angrily threw Madeline to one side. Mandy quickly put down the lantern in her hand and ran to Madeline's side to care for her master.

"Annie, are you okay?" Ian picked me up and looked at my injuries. "Who hurt you? Tell me!"

"It's Madeline!" I said weakly and raised the letter in my hand. "It's her. She spread rumors about Jack and me!"

"You?" Ian put me down. His purple eyes were filled with murderous intent. "How dare you touch my people!"

"You read my letter?" Madeline screamed. She looked at Ian arrogantly. "Do you dare to kill me? For a lowly commoner, you'd better think about the consequences!"

Ian sneered and walked toward Madeleine. "I don't have to think about the consequences of killing people!"
