Chapter 1: Welcome to Tera

Darkness fills the air as the sun sets on the small, cursed town. The villagers fear the dark, for in it lies monsters. Here it's Halloween every day. The town has grown used to it but not unwary. They leave their iron doors locked, with salt on the stoops. Their shutters spiked with wooden spears. Each house burns saged candles. They know the ways to survive. Mind you I said survive, not thrive. Those who live in this town are cursed, they cannot leave. They are here till they die. No one ever came to visit this town; it just did not happen. The town hidden up in the mountains, but down in a valley. Shrouded by fog and damp mist. The village is called Tera, whether it is because they all have to a degree Teraphobia the fear of the monsters that plagued their lives; or because the founder was Iichii Tera, the first of the cursed. There was a howl in the distance, not a dog or any natural animal. It was a deep, unnatural, guttural howl. Something of a monster, it sends shivers down your spine and cold sweats threaten to pour down your body. The sound petrifies your nerves. Everything inside of you tells you to run, but you cannot. If you are here, you are cursed. Welcome to Tera.
