Chapter 32: Crispy lion and Winter's wind's

The night drifted into heated passion between the now three lovers as one thing led to another. Alexios had learned just how much Reanna fantasies about women and the things she was interested in. With a drawn out silent yawn, Alexios arose from the bed gently moving out from between the two women and stepping onto the soft fur rug on the ground. He quickly got dressed to get to work noticing the lack of light as it was still too early. Before the sun properly arose signaling morning to everyone around, Alexios set out to his trusted companions with scrolls detailing his plans along with his words ready for their discussion.

"I have no actual advice to give as I see no need to adjust your plans. It's clear and precise, if it was not for your words explaining though, I think I would not have seen your goal. The question now is who can we rely on in this war?" Robb held no pleasantries as he had no energy after spending most of the night coming up with plans and how everything would work in this war. Alexios looked towards William who was standing looking over the scrolls displayed and bowed his head slightly to indicate him to speak.

"With the sources I have gathered, Dorne is with us if our deal still stands. The Reach has mainly stayed neutral but they have leaned over to our side at least into talks as we have the most to offer and by everyone's view, the strongest of the contenders in this war. The Riverlands say they are with us but Walder Frey has been acting highly suspicious and I don't trust him. The Vail remains neutral through all our attempts at persuasion and refuses to take part in this war. The Stormlands are divided but most side with Renly Baratheon while the Iron Isles are well, the Iron Isles, enough said about that."

As William took a drink from a mug on the table he inhaled some air and took out a scroll. "Jaime Lannister spotted and possibly the commander of the armies for the current crown. He is heading our way with a portion of their army and I don't believe they have good information on our numbers or capabilities. With our expectations in order, and your guidance, This war should end within half a year if everything goes to plan and at most a full year if some incidents occur." Laying down the scroll, he looked at Robb then Alexios.

"We head out when the sun is at its highest point, prepare the soldiers and inform everyone. Toros should be getting close to his destination within the next three days. I'm going to go prepare myself and I expect one of you to inform the lords as well while I deal with a matter." With his last words, Alexios left the area and walked towards the soldiers area they were staying in. Upon reaching the area, Alexios went to a higher elevated area and shouted amplifying his voice with mana.

"Today we march towards our enemies, Today we might do battle with our enemies. Today we might die to our enemies but forever we will be remembered. We are the North whether born, raised, or even brought to these lands for some reason or another. We are all the North has to offer, and we will bring victory today! When you fight, I just want you to know you are not protecting me, or any individual lord, you are protecting the freedom of the North and all of our families!"

With the simple speech, he made his way back down from his position and left leaving the soldiers with their thoughts. The words spoken brought a wave of emotions and thoughts about it. The lord's that were present were shocked but none thought it was a bad move to play in itself. Men and Women were rushing back and forth preparing to leave and the lords were preparing themselves for the departure. The cold winds of the North began to blow through the land almost signifying the North's march south.

As the cool breeze caressed Alexios's face, he looked at the future land of death with disgust. Before him were the banners of the Lannister's with roughly over 15 thousand soldiers. He raised his great sword with ease using one arm and slammed his arm down indicating his intentions as he rode forward. The separated groups of cavalry rode from different directions but strangely to the enemy in a hypnotic pattern as they couldn't focus on one enemy. The groups diverged and separated the enemy into smaller groups each passing clash. Jaime is constantly on his heels as he either dodges, blocks or tries to unsaddle the passing riders.

With the last pass, Alexios saw Jaime and in the few seconds passing on the glance looked at his skills.

Riding back to his position, Alexios was thinking before deciding what to do. Releasing a shot of flame into the air, all the riders retreated as the remaining Lannister army regrouped. Alexios looked at the grouped enemy and smirked. "As much as I would have loved to battle you Jaime, I don't want to waste my time fighting you when I could easily kill you now." His hand rose and his palm pointed at the center of the enemy.

A torrent of blue flame shot out at speeds faster than a crossbow bolt. It clashed and exploded on contact with the cluster of enemy soldiers causing an eruption of screams and short begging. The explosion caused some of the soldiers around the outskirts of the formation to be blown away but they quickly surrendered or were chased down and captured. Alexios got down from his horse after getting closer and receded his flames causing the whole area to go into silence. As he walked he would impale the survivors with spikes of earth into their hearts to cease their suffering. Walking more and more, he soon found himself in the middle observing around before shooting a wave of air quickly to his left only to see Jaime Lannister partially burnt and bloody.

Alexios could only think he must've used one of the soldiers as cover to protect himself from the blast and most of the flames. The surprise attack was a good plan if it were to succeed and if Jaime wasn't so exhausted. As the two warriors gazed upon one another, Jaime for the first time really looked at the infamous Alexios Dragen. A man who towered over him with an equally large sword accompanying him. A man who just destroyed his forces with little to no difficulty and some unknown weapon that destroyed his formation.

As the different thoughts circled each other in his mind Alexios smirked at him and stepped closer. "So Jaime, will you drop your weapon and surrender or will you end up like the men at your feet, either butchered or burned." Trailing his words a flame appeared hovering above one open palm faced up as Alexios played with the fire. Jaime seeing this dropped to his knees losing his strength as the puzzle was completed to what that weapon was. The man before him was the weapon that killed his soldiers in an instant.

A dark night filled with light provided by hundreds of fires filled the large expanse of land. The leading figures and lords of the North were all discussing their next move as they now had to march southward past the Frey's to continue. The following days after the battle with Jaime Lannister and his soldiers were filled with small skirmishes till they were at the opening to the south. The Riverlands were a dangerous place for outsiders and even more dangerous for anyone who didn't know how to traverse in the land. Now the council of lords and trusted companions were discussing how they would pass Walder Frey's land.

298 AC:

The cold never leaves and never retreats, it only gets colder and comes down harder on one's bones. It seeps into your blood and dulls your mind till you're a husk of your previous self. Many have left the cold seeking safer areas to call home but some are trapped with the cold and can never run from it, only hoping to hide long enough. The winter winds are calling and the snow is falling, times are changing and it's time for everyone to fear the cold again. Blue eyes, piercing cold blue eyes, that is all one will see if you look into the winter's winds long enough. With those winds, the screams and cries for help can be heard if you listen hard and long enough, though many normally accompany them before they get the chance.
