Her maid brought soap for them. "Tell the cook to deliver food here," he ordered. It seemed that everyone knew they were in the washroom and, of course, knew what they were doing or about to do.

The soap smelled of roses and was smooth and creamy in her hands. She rubbed it through her hair, almost moaning at the lovely feeling after the dirt, cold, and fear of the day. She closed her eyes and let the scent of the soap and his drawling voice roll over her as she massaged her scalp with the tips of her fingers. It was really rather lovely.

But when she opened her eyes, she found that Royce had stopped and became immobilized while looking at her. His gaze was fixed on her, his eyes slowly trailing down her arms to her neck and farther, to where her breasts just touched the water.
