Phoenix's van hurtled through the night, weaving through crowded streets. Nova's words still echoed in my mind: "It's not just about the Eclipse Project. It's about what's hidden within."
"What do you mean?" I pressed, my curiosity piqued.
Nova hesitated, glancing at Phoenix. "Your parents discovered something revolutionary. A code, hidden within the Eclipse Project's data."
Maya's eyes widened. "A code? What kind?"
Nova's voice dropped to a whisper. "A code that could expose the Agency's deepest secrets."
Phoenix's gaze met mine in the rearview mirror. "Ethan, your parents were more than just researchers. They were whistleblowers."
My mind reeled. "What secrets?"
Nova's expression turned grim. "Secrets about the Agency's true purpose. About their manipulation of world events."
Suddenly, the van's tires screeched, swerving onto a deserted alley. Phoenix killed the engine.
"We're here," Phoenix said, eyes scanning the rooftops. "Our safe house."
But as we stepped out, I sensed unease. Something didn't feel right.
