Chapter 1: Chapter 1: The strange looking stone

Title:The strange looking stone

Arthur Freyas, a man of wealth and taste, was not just any ordinary billionaire. His fortune came from a long line of successful ancestors, and his grandfather had left him a staggering inheritance. But Arthur wasn't interested in cars or luxury yachts. No, his passion lay in collecting rare ancient antiques, limited-edition comic books and ofcourse he like reading manga, manhwa and manhua. He filled his sprawling mansion with relics from different corners of the world, carefully displayed in a grand hall.

One day, while visiting a small, obscure antique shop, Arthur's eye was drawn to a peculiar stone. It was unlike anything he'd ever seen—rough, yet strangely mesmerizing. The shopkeeper, worn and dejected, admitted that he had no idea what the stone was or its worth. Seeing the man's desperation to sell anything, Arthur decided to buy not only the strange stone but several other items as well, out of pity.

Upon returning home, Arthur placed his new acquisitions in his vast antique hall, the stone taking a central spot on a display pedestal. Content with his day, he left the hall, unaware of the events that were about to unfold.

That night, while Arthur slept peacefully, the mysterious stone began to glow. It pulsed with an eerie light, slowly absorbing the energy from the surrounding antiques. One by one, the priceless relics disintegrated into dust, their power drawn into the stone. The once magnificent hall was now filled with nothing but a thin layer of gray dust.

Morning came, and Arthur, as was his custom, called his butler, Alfred, to prepare breakfast. After his meal, he made his way to the hall of antiques, eager to admire his collection. But the moment he opened the door, he froze in shock. The room was empty—no relics, no artifacts, just dust scattered across the floor. His heart sank.

"What… what is this?" he stammered, stepping into the room. His eyes fell on the stone. It was glowing brightly, as if it had absorbed the essence of every other item in the hall. Confusion and disbelief filled him, and he slowly reached out to touch the stone.

The moment his fingers brushed against it, the light flickered out, and the stone crumbled to dust in his hand. Arthur's vision blurred, and before he could comprehend what had happened, he collapsed.

Hours later, Alfred, noticing that Arthur hadn't come out of the hall, rushed in to check on him. What he found was devastating: the grand hall was empty, and Arthur lay unconscious on the cold floor, surrounded by piles of dust. In a panic, Alfred called for the doctors, fearing for his master's life.

Little did they know, this was just the beginning of a journey that would take Arthur to a world far beyond his wildest dreams…

---

Arthur slowly blinked his eyes open, his vision blurry at first, but gradually clearing. The familiar face of Alfred, his loyal butler, came into view, sitting patiently beside the bed.

"Hey... Alfred," Arthur muttered, his voice hoarse but steady.

Alfred, ever composed, smiled warmly. "Good morning, Master Arthur. How are you feeling?"

Arthur rubbed his temples, trying to shake off the fog in his mind. "I... How long was I out?"

"Just a day, sir," Alfred replied calmly. "The doctor has already come and gone. There's nothing to worry about. In fact, he said your health is better than ever."

Arthur raised an eyebrow, feeling oddly refreshed, though the memory of the previous day weighed heavily on him. "Better than ever, huh? That's strange…"

Alfred nodded but said nothing more, his usual calm demeanor intact. Arthur, still trying to piece together what had happened, couldn't shake the image of the stone crumbling to dust from his mind.

--

Arthur sat up slowly, still feeling the lingering weight of confusion. He glanced at Alfred, who stood by his side, ever so loyal. "Alfred," he said, his voice more serious now, "don't tell anyone what happened in the hall, alright?"

Alfred gave a short nod, always discreet. "Yes, sir."

"We'll talk about it later," Arthur added, leaning back into his pillows. "For now, I just want to rest."

"Of course, sir." With a slight bow, Alfred left the room, closing the door quietly behind him.

The moment Arthur was alone, a strange sensation washed over him. Something felt... different. His eyes widened as he noticed a translucent, glowing interface hovering in front of him. The sight was both strange and yet... familiar.

The system.

He had read about things like this when he was more youngers and in the countless comic books, manga, manhwa and novels he collected and and bought, but seeing it in real life? That was a whole different story. He blinked, rubbing his eyes, but the interface remained in front of him. Had Alfred seen it? No... Alfred hadn't reacted. Whatever this was, it was visible only to Arthur.

He focused on the glowing text displayed before him:

---

Name:Arthur Freyas

Age: 27

Title: The Collector

Subtitle:The One Who Will Rule All Worlds

---

Stats:

- HP:100

- Strength:12 (Average)

- **Intelligence:** 15 (Very Knowledgeable)

- Charm:12

- Stamina: 9

- Agility: 10

---

System Energy:10,000 (Everything has energy, but only a little. However, this energy can be collected from old items that have survived their era, as they contain significant amounts of energy.)

Divinity:0 (Can be gained through the faith of believers.)

Cosmic Energy:0 (Can be obtained from cosmic beings or rare cosmic items.)

---

Arthur stared at the stats, bewildered. "What the hell…? Is this real?" He muttered to himself. "Maybe I've been reading too many manga and manhua and manhwa..."

But there was no denying what he was seeing. A system. A literal, functioning system, as though he had just stepped into the world of one of his favorite stories. His eyes flickered over the stats again. His own strength, intelligence, stamina—all quantified.

He couldn't help but feel a strange excitement mixed with disbelief. This... this was real.

"What on Earth is happening to me?" he whispered, staring at his stats in awe.

---

Arthur continued studying the system interface, still in disbelief. His eyes scanned over every detail, trying to make sense of the stats and strange energy categories. But as he delved deeper, something caught his attention—a small, blinking icon in the corner of the interface. Curious, he focused on it, and with a soft chime, a new screen unfolded before him.

---

Special Ability Unlocked:

Absorption

Description: Absorb energy from objects, artifacts, or beings to increase your System Energy. The rarer or more ancient the item, the greater the energy absorbed.

---

Arthur's heart skipped a beat as he read the ability's description. Absorption? He glanced around his room, his mind racing back to the antiques that had crumbled to dust in his hall. The stone—had it drained the energy from his collection and somehow transferred it to him?

His fingers hovered over the interface, and a rush of realization hit him. He had the ability to absorb energy from things—anything ancient, powerful, or even alive. The potential was staggering. With enough energy, he could possibly unlock even greater powers, manipulate forces beyond comprehension... perhaps even transcend his current reality.

"This... this changes everything," Arthur whispered. His mind spun with the possibilities. He could gather more energy, grow stronger, and unlock abilities that defied the natural world. A part of him shivered at the thought, but the other part, the collector in him, was thrilled. There was so much more out there to discover, to absorb.

Arthur couldn't help but smile. His life was about to change, in ways he couldn't have imagined.

---

As Arthur was researching the system functions his eyes widened as he discovered yet another function in the system:

---

Traversal to Another World Mode

Description: Travel to any world, whether real, fictional, or from any form of media, including movies, books, and games. Requirements: Sufficient System Energy.

---

Arthur's heart pounded in his chest. "I can... travel to other worlds?" he muttered, hardly believing what he was reading. The very idea was intoxicating. He had spent years fantasizing about stepping into the worlds of his favorite comic books and movies, and now... it was possible.

The thought sent a thrill through him unlike anything he had ever experienced. The possibilities were endless. He could visit the worlds of fantasy he had read about, meet characters who had only existed on paper, or witness incredible places beyond imagination.

But Arthur knew he couldn't rush into it. As tempting as it was, traveling to another world unprepared would be reckless. He needed to gather more energy, strengthen himself, and understand the system better before making such a bold move.

"I have to plan this carefully," he murmured to himself, pacing the room. "First, I'll need more antiques… ones with stronger energy."

He realized then that not all antiques were equal. Each item carried a different amount and quality of energy depending on its age, origin, and history. If he was to prepare for traversal, he needed to be selective. Only the rarest and most powerful artifacts would do.

"I can't just buy randomly anymore," Arthur mused. "I need items with significant energy, things that have survived through time with real history."

His mind buzzed with excitement. Tomorrow, he would start his hunt. He would visit his usual antique dealers, but this time with a new purpose. He wasn't just collecting for his personal enjoyment anymore—he was gathering power.

Tomorrow would mark the beginning of something much bigger. He would prepare for the journey of a lifetime. Soon, he would walk through the worlds he had only ever dreamed of.
