Chapter 103: Don't Use Mindpower?

Ben walked behind the senior towards the end of the long corridor adorned with light blue carpet that remained neat no matter how many legs stepped on it.

The girl was rude so there's was nothing that made Ben strike a conversation with her. It was a silent twenty minute walk. They weren't allowed use any magic doors, so they were forced to climb stairs going up twenty floors.

It wouldn't have been a problem going up twenty floors, but where the problem came from was having to pass through ten metre long corridors every two floors.

"What makes the council call for you?" Ben heard the girls choice once again when they reached the thirteenth floor.

"I don't know." Ben lied. He had an idea but wouldn't say.

"The only time a student gets called is to be expelled for the bad things they did. I wonder what you must have done." Ben nearly bumped into her when she came to an abrupt stop. "With your looks I bet you must have gathered the girls in your class saying something like you're a rich noble son, with your uncle being a teacher in this institute and then... you fuck them all." she had her hands crossed over her chest with her eyes looking at Ben filled with disgust.

Ben looked the young lady up in the eyes, now he understood her problem. She hates nobles... and a lot. He knew how to deal with such a person, but he shouldn't forget she is his senior, maybe an Unspoken of the Third Class.

Ben was told only Unspokens that have signed contracts with the school can have a black robe with the schools insignia.

"What makes you thinks I'm noble? I am just a Hunter from a small duchy. Being handsome doesn't make me noble. And just so you know, it's the girls that come after me not the other way around. Please if you don't mind I want to meet with the council."

The girl looked at Ben as though trying to gauge if he was lying or not. After some time she nodded. Looks like she will have do with that.

Ben made his way into the large double doors at the end of the corridor. Inside the Grand Hall Ben was met with fifteen men and women, and a few out of them he knew.

"Greetings." Ben loudly declared.

No words left the mouths of those before him. Still Ben didn't raise his head. He was taught that the elderly in the aristocratic homes love this type of respect. It is only when they are satisfied will they attend to you.

"You can lift your head boy." a woman's voice spoke when Ben still had his head down.

Gently lifting his head, Ben used this chance to have a better look at those before him. He could see his mentor, Magus Belti, his teacher in alchemy class, alchemist Erin, the fair Elder from the Light element class, Arch Magus Valery, Elder Nes and someone he wasn't expecting to see, Shanks. And according to where he was seated he seems to be an Elder.

"We were all called here because of alchemist Erin, and alchemist Erin is here because of you. He brought with him a few potions which he said are yours. First of all, is that true?" Elder Nes chose his words carefully.

"Yes, it is." he answered with a light nod.

"And what makes you think you're answer is strong enough for us believe you?" Elder Jade spoke this time.

Ben looked at the Elder that said this and thought. He could have told them to let him make another brew in their presence but he didn't. He could have even said Erin would vouch for him, but he thought they wouldn't ask him since they would believe Erin enough. Then an answer came to his mind.

"Because the two request I asked your help with is something easy for you, the school, to be able to do. And I assure you Elders, I am the only one with the ability to make these potions." Ben's gaze landed on Erin.

The rest in the room saw this and became confused. Didn't Erin say he watched the boy make a simple brew? Then what is this he is saying about being the only one able to make it?

"What do you mean by that?" Arch Magus Tifu questioned.

"I'm saying that for now I am the only person able to make these brew. Even if I hand over the formulae, your only chance of replicating them could be in ten's of years, maybe."

"Impossible...!"

"What is this...?"

"Are you tired of living child?"

"Looks like you have no manners."

Ben stood there in the midst of powerful professionals without a hint of fear. His potions are powerful, but without him they wouldn't be able to make a second one. Erin could try, but like he said it will take them years.

Why? Well, there are two reasons; One is just as Erin had earlier stated, he would have to check the right amount of ingredients used in every procedure. And to do that he has to practical waste so much materials. They may be simple herbs, but then, what will happen when people notice that The Phantom uses a lot ginger or Dogo Yaro root or every other normie ingredients?

That problem could be settled one way or another. By planting these herbs themselves. By stock piling them. They might even resort to stealing them if they have to. However, the most heaviest roadblock they will ever have will be that...

Ben shifted his gaze at the four people he believes might help him. The top on the list being his mentor, who is then followed by Elder Valery. After her there is alchemist Erin, for some reason bald black skinned Elder was also in the list.

"...Settle down." Elder Nes softly said when he saw the Arch Mages managing to hold themselves back from squashing the little thing. Because, what if... he is right? What if without him they will never be able to have another bottle of these incredible potions? They will have to continue to suffer from the hands of their oppressors. "Ben, I am called Elder Nes. I am also your mentors teacher. I have lived a long life and I do know that Belti has been a bit of a strong head when he was about your age, but never had he ever made a claim he is not certain of."

"Like I said Elders, I can assure you that no one in this kingdom knows the full process of these brews. However, I am not going to horde them to myself, I wish to share them with the school only for a small price. That I know why Amanda Wesley was tracked and killed and by whom." Ben stated.

"Who is this woman to you Ben? Why didn't you just ask me all this without trying to bring the wrath of some Elders?" Belti asked, his raspy voice was a bit shaky, but Ben didn't notice. A few others might but not Ben.

"She was someone close to me that's all." Ben shrugged his shoulder. Ben was standing strong in the midst of these seniors but deep down his heart was aching. This was his mother he was talking about.

"Is that so?" Elder Nes looked at the rest of the Elders and nod his head, giving his student a glance, he sent Belti a Mindpower message which he readily agreed to. "Alright then, Ben. You must be the first Entrance-level Spellcaster to ever struck a deal with numerous Arch Mages and Elders in history. It is a deal I suppose, you go ahead and begin making these potions of yours while we contact the Magic Association to help in your search..." Nes got confused when he saw Ben's hand up wanting to say something, "...Yes."

"Elders, seniors, I am a noble and I know a lot of things that take place when it comes to settling deals... I only ask for your word that you help me, as for the potion formulas I will hand them over right now, because I know that I will still be watched even when I am given the most private place a man could ever think of..." while he spoke he brought out three pieces of paper and dropped them on the table before him. "...these are the formulas. Just remember not to use Mindpower when brewing, you don't want to have a shit all over your table."

Silence...

"..."

"..."

...SILENCE....

Mindpower shouldn't be used?

Ben had once tried it, using Mindpower that is. What he got instead was a literal manmade cow dunk. This was the second reasons and their greatest roadblock in being unable to replicate the potions.

He was made to understand, through Lucy, that the process in brewing the Consumable Lotion or any other potion gotten from her never required the use of Mindpower. This is because in Lucy's time, timeline, realm, or whatever you want to call it people don't have Mindpower.

It is a time so distant in the future that homemade garden herbs were used in the Third World War to quickly patch up laser holes gotten in the heat of battle. Lucy stated that this world's structure already boosts the chemical compound of the herbs, any more external influence will totally destroy it.

But, because this world's alchemists depend so much on Mindpower, Ben is afraid that they might never even get the process right throughout their whole life.

"What did you say?"
