Chapter 4: 4 Kingdom Blackash
The Kingdom of Blackash is well known for being one of the kingdom throughout the entire region for having three big Magic Association. Two of them are actually Magic Institutes while the third, which is the most powerful one is run by the royal family, meaning that the royal family is led by a Spellcaster. Seven medium sized magic schools and over twenty small sized magic school scattered all over the vast land.
The Kingdom of Blackash is the the fourth largest kingdom in the continent. the Duchy of Moonlight is only a small duchy that is under the protection of the Kingdom of Blackash, with only three medium sized magic institutes as its strongest fort with a little over ten magic schools. Every person wish to travel there one day only to look for greener pastures.
Every five years the Kingdom of Blackash and other Spellcaster from other duchies and the other three Kingdoms send out their Spellcasters to other smaller duchies to find those with Spellcasters qualities and send them to the schools that is meant for them.
In the carriage Ben didn't continue to gather any of the Starfields since the results would show on his body, instead he parted the curtain to look at this new world of his. They passed villages ever so often. Ben saw people around selling their stuff on the sideways. He was also surprised to see some Elemental Swordsmen on the streets using their sword to make tricks like flaming swords and the rest.
On their way they passed the forested area where there would be occasional flicker of light deep in the woods. After the longest, aching and bumpiest ride Ben has ever been in they finally left Lord Williams territory, Carolin city.
Four hours later they arrived at Georgia town, the home of Count George. It was a very huge castle made with intricate designs and white marble stone walls making the building look grand and elegant. This is the house of an aristocrat two whole levels higher than a Lord.
It was a very spacious and beautiful castle, with its symbol flag hung at every high post for all to see. Different class of people can be seen here, besides, this gathering was meant for the young. Many luxurious carriages owned by those rich children could be seen, so also many youths in rags and tattered clothes. When Ben and Anna arrived they were directed towards a big field where all the other youths were.
In the spacious hall of the palace at the higher platform a chair meant for the head was sat a burly man with a well fitted black suit with fine gold embroidery. He gave of an oppressive aura in the room making all others feel uneasy. In the hall every member of council in this small side of the kingdom was present, especially if a member of their family was among those youths outside.
"Good morning everyone! we have all gathered here for one thing... " the Count said with a happy smile on his face " ...and I know we have all prepared for this day for a long time. Today the well known Kingdom of Blackash will be coming here for the recruitment, and as a matter for fact my sons and daughters are going in as well. We only have to... " before Count George could finish his words a strong gust of wind pushed the heavy set of double doors that would take two fully buffed men to push open were going like a piece of paper.
In the sky above, everyone including Ben and Anna all saw a man standing in mid air relying solely on the little tornado underneath him that enables him flight, making his blue robe to flutter in the air but his hair was kept untouched by the strong wind.
Behind him were five people, three people, a young looking lady wearing a jet black robe was at the front with a boy and girl wearing gray robes sat on a flying creature with her that has the body of a lion and a head of an eagle, on its back was a pair of powerful wings that brought about a strong gale whenever it flapped it's wings.
Two more people sat on another flying creature, this creature looked like your everyday horse but it had wings that stretch a whole three metres on both sides and was completely white. A young lady that wore a milky white robe sat in front with a boy wearing green colored robe behind.
The two young women in front of the flying mounts were extremely beautiful making both men and the hot blooded boys below to have their hormones reacting but at the same time extremely fearful because the aura emitting from them was a lot stronger than those at their back. One looked pure and holy while the other has a stay-away vibe around her.
As everyone was still in awe of the two flying mount a shout if a young man amongst the crown m crowd was heard.
"My goodness! what is that?" said a young boy of about twenty. As his voice fell they all turned towards the direction he was facing and saw a huge amount of dust and sand raising into the air. A tiny black dot was seen at the very front of the coming cloud of dust, the most surprising thing wasn't the cloud of dust but the distance at which that black dot had covered in a matter of seconds. It was like a mile for a second.
"Just how fast is that creature"
"If that thing was to massacre an entire city it could do that in a blink of an eye"
As everybody was still contemplating what type of creatures it was, it already closed in on them. It even totally disregarded the ten metre high wall a few kilometres down and jumped it like it was overstepping a rock effortlessly. After coming closer to the crowd they could now see what it looks like, it was a very huge cat with brown fur and black spots all over it. That's a giant cheater!!
"Is there really such a 'big' cat in this world?" Ben from the distance asked himself.
The giant cheater finally slowed down after passing the wall in order not to raise more dust, the wall helped in stopping the cloud of dust but a good share still followed it in. When the cheater reached the crowd they saw a young man probably in his thirties wearing a fiery red robe, he also had golden colored hair. The air around him was very hot almost to the point of burning.
With a loud thud everyone saw the other two creatures land heavily shaking the ground below them. The man in mid air looked around and spoke in an ancient language, with that, all six of those in their mount rode them toward the back of the castle. After that they came back and went into the castle with the blue robed man.
Immediately the doors mystically closed behind the seven figures the two thousand and over young men and women were in an uproar.
"Did you see the winged horse?! my father said it can talk to humans"
"What language was that? I've never heard it in any of our classes?"
"That hybrid lion eagle looks very powerful enough to destroy a fortress!"
"My heavens! That giant cat is incredibly fast. I believe you won't even take your last breath before it beheads you with those sharp claws of it"
All the youth could not believe what they saw, even if their family or clan elders told them they would certainly doubt them. But they now know what it means by 'you can only live long enough to see it'.
