Chapter 32: Chapter thirty one

(Cassandra's POV)

The car ride is mostly silent except for the painful sobs that rack my body.

Michelle is cradling me to her side as I cry into her shoulder.

The pain in my heart felt so physical that I almost couldn't breathe.

It is as if someone stabbed their hand through my chest and is squeezing on my heart like a stress ball.

The farther away I got from him, the more the pain increased until I felt like slamming my head on a hard surface so I could fall unconscious.

I don't want to be more of a burden on Joy and Michelle so I bite on my lower lip to keep my screams in.

It starts from my chest and spreads to the rest of my body like some kind of virus.

Is that what this is? A virus that I caught by accident? So many strange things have been happening lately and I don't see any way to stop it.

By the time Joy pulls up at their house, I could already feel black spots start to cloud my vision.
