“Welcome home, love!” Evan said as he opened the door and let her through first.
He didn’t know why, but he was apprehensive about her reaction. What if she didn't want to live there? Would that be a possibility?
Chloe, in turn, was feeling out of place. Everything in that house was new to her. The dark marble floor, the expensive furniture, the large glass windows with an incredible view of the city. None of that seemed to be real.
The only thing she found familiar was that wooden scent, which warmed her heart and made her lose consciousness.
“Let me show your room. It’s upstairs.” Evan said while he grabbed her hand and leaded the way.
“Are we not going to sleep together?” she asked confused.
He stopped halfway and glanced at her with malicious eyes.
“That’s what you want, Chloe?”
“No… I… I just thought if we need to make it look real…” she was embarrassed.
“Believe me, you’ll thank me for having your own room.” he simply said and started to walk again.
