Chapter 67: Illegalities

"Doreen, thank you for coming in today. I know this is not something usual for you to do, but you are the only one who I could trust to take care of these things."

Vincent's tone was very apologetic. He was aware that having to ask Doreen to come to the Enterprise was a big favor to ask, but he had no other choice. Though they had not been staying in the same room anymore in the mansion, they had stayed civil, even friends. 

"It's fine, Vincent. I know we have to be discreet about this..."

Doreen replied in a soft tone. She was about to say more, but Vincent cut her off.

"I'm sorry about Leah, but I hope you understand where I am coming from. I trusted her... and you... I trust you... we are family."

Vincent sounded somewhat sad saying all these things.
