Chapter 216: Taking out the camp II

With measured steps, Lilith closed the gap between herself and the awaiting lizard men. As she reached their front, her movement came to a halt, a brief suspension of motion that allowed her to take in each soldier with an assessing gaze.

"Well, well, what's a beauty like you doing here? It's not safe… run along." one of the lizard men piped up, his tone laced with a crude amusement. 

His words hung in the air, a dismissive commentary on Lilith's presence. The soldiers around him joined in, a chorus of mocking laughter that swirled like an undercurrent beneath the surface.

Yet, Lilith's response was silence. She absorbed their taunts, her face a mask of restraint. A sigh slipped past her lips, carrying with it a weight of resignation. "So, I'm guessing these are the squads master was talking about?" Her voice carried a note of disappointment, a thread of realization woven through her words.
