Chapter 19: Sara - Another Skate

Sara looked around anxiously for Roy as she entered the skating rink. She was still rattled from her incident with Roy. The two sisters had stayed behind the locked door until Tom had left about an hour after he had accosted her. She had kept her sister from using the bathroom for another half hour to make sure he had really left. While he wasn’t the smartest tack in the drawer, he was conniving to some degree.

Now Sara felt she could breathe better with distance between her and the house. Though Tom wasn’t there, memories of his assault plagued her. She prayed he’d stay at the bar all night and leave her alone.

“Hey, Sara.”

She turned to find the young man who had promised to meet her. He actually had showed up.
