Chapter 425: Trust is more than just words.

Abigail stared out the window, as if the passing countryside held the solutions to her mixed sentiments, during the drive. Christopher cast sidelong looks at her, his mind racing for the appropriate words to bridge the gap between them.

As the silence grew thicker, his patience wore thin. Christopher's fingers tightened on the steering wheel, his frustration and concern mounting. He reached for her hand, his touch a plea for connection, but she withdrew her hand. 

"Abi, please talk to me," he urged. 

Abigail said nothing as if she had not heard him. 

"Look, I am sorry. I admit I made a terrible mistake. I shouldn't have yelled at Jasper…" 

"This is not about yelling at Jasper," she retorted, interrupting him. "It's all about your faith in me. You shouldn't have any problem with me talking to or befriending any man. Your jealousy... it hurts."

"I trust you," he insisted, his voice carrying his earnestness.
