Chapter 20: Chapter 20: Confessions

ARES’S POV

I waited as her mind seemed to ponder what answer to give me. I would have loved to tell her that Christina meant nothing to me, that I told her nothing, and that I could go out with her whenever I wanted to. I wish the same could be said for her.

I took a mental note that her house contained no pictures of Timothy, but she could have hidden them from me. She could have them stored in their bedroom or they could be the type of couple that didn’t like public displays of affection. I doubt that though. Timothy seems like a man who would order a grand portrait of them to rest on the living room wall for all to see.

“I didn’t tell him anything. Should I have?” Leilani asked.

I shrugged. It wasn’t my relationship. She could go about her life with Timothy in any way that she wanted. She was an adult and could make her own decisions. Hopefully, the decisions that she made would lead her to leave him and pursue a life with me.
