Chapter 10: Chapter 10: Her Name

ARES’S POV

Timothy Davis, the most boring and insignificant businessman that I had ever encountered had the nerve to interrupt me. This was between me and her, there was no need for him to be here. To add fuel to the fire he wrapped his arm around her waist and tugged her closer.

Normally I would ignore such a mediocre gesture, but something about the way he did it bothered me. The way he touched her as if she were his, struck a different kind of rage in me. She didn’t belong to him; she wasn’t his and he shouldn’t be touching her as if she were.

Her hand touched his chest as she pulled away slightly, but I couldn’t tell if she was startled by the action or if she didn’t want to be as close to him as he wanted it to seem. Her eyes darted between the two of us trying to solve a puzzle that I didn’t figure was there.
