Chapter 12: Too Sore to Leave the Bed

Maisy tried to get up, but her body was aching all over as if she was just run over by a bus.

The person who was responsible for the pain was lying next to her. The lady grunted and mumbled, thinking that Jay was still fast asleep. Little did she know was that the man was looking at each of her little movements all the time.

"What did you say? Why don't you say it louder?" Jay suddenly asked.

Maisy immediately shut her mouth tight and tried to get up once again despite the pain. However, she only managed to get up a little before collapsing back onto the bed. She couldn't summon her strength any longer and gave up.

"Get some more rest. The maid will bring our lunch over later." Jay smiled.

Maisy nodded, thinking that Jay was quite the caring person as well. He knew that she was feeling pain all over her body and told her to rest. She was starting to believe that Jay wasn't as cold-hearted as he seemed.
