Chapter 9: Maternity Agreement

"My grandmother's health is getting worse by the day. All she had hoped to see was for me and my two older brothers to have children of our own," Jay explained. "My father loves my grandmother a lot and wants to respect her wish. Thus, he gave me and my brothers a challenge. Whoever gets a child first will become the CEO of our family's business. Then, there's my mother who threatened to kill herself if I don't fight for that position. That's why I need a child."

"But... Aren't you already a CEO of the company?" Maisy was utterly confused.

"I'm only the CEO of the Hotel Management and Food and Beverages Division of the Hamilton Group," Jay patiently explained to her. "Our family has a lot of other businesses around the world, including aviation, finance, and medical and department stores, to name a few. The CEO of the entire Hamilton Group is the most powerful and influential person in our family."
