"You don't have to be so tense," Jay said, noticing that she was nervous. "I don't like to force people to do things they don't want to, but I did buy you for a reason. I need you to do something for me."

Maisy understood what the man meant and nodded to show that. "I understand. I'll be prepared for anything."

"Good girl." Jay patted Maisy's head as if she was a little pet. Her hair was soft, smooth, and thick like silk, and it was a pleasure to touch. "When will you be prepared?"
