Chapter 89: Feigning Illness

Lucas and Jay chatted nonstop, which made Maisy feel a lot better. Jay slowly let out a sigh of relief. He felt that the atmosphere between them had become a little better. As the few of them talked, the door of the operating room opened. Maisy's heart instantly thumped.

"Doctor, how is my mother's condition?" Jay went up first and asked anxiously.

"Don't worry, she's fine," the doctor said to them with a smile and gave Jay a look.

"Just say what you want to say. Maisy isn't an outsider." Jay had a good relationship with the doctor. From the looks of it, Madeline's matter might not be that simple.

"Your mother is fine." The doctor sighed and sounded a little helpless. "She might be faking it."

"What?" Maisy frowned.
