Chapter 30: Easy to Tease

Grandpa Michael was all buttered up by Jay's sweet talk. They talked and talked until Jay had to leave due to work.

Grandpa Michael kept reminding Maisy to be good to Jay as it wasn't easy to find someone she had feelings for and decent. The April showers had finally brought May flowers, he thought, relieved.

Gone were the wretched days when Maisy had to suffer with him because he couldn't provide her with a better quality of life. She had been through so much more compared to kids her age, and it was unfair for her. It was why he had always felt blameworthy all those years, but seeing that she was now in a happy place had brought closure to him. He was finally able to put down the stone that he had been carrying around for years.
