Chapter 41: Are You My Father?

The air in the kitchen was steaming hot and fragrant, but atmosphere was quite awkward because of their confrontation.

"But Uncle Jay doesn't seem to be joking." Lucas looked at Jay blankly and asked for confirmation, "Uncle Jay, being someone's father is a very serious matter. You can't joke around."

Hearing her son's fearless words, Maisy felt a headache coming on. She was afraid that Jay would reveal the truth of their past in the next second or make some unrealistic promise with Lucas. She hurriedly handed an orange to Lucas and diverted his attention. "Can you help me peel it?"

The little guy was still holding Jay's hand. Seeing his mother was eager to ask him for help, he had no choice but to let go of Jay's warm big hand. He said helplessly like a little adult, "Alright, what a coquettish woman."
