"Mrs. Delacroix, please come in." Marty opened the meeting room's door for her. "Mr. Delacroix will be five minutes late because he has to meet a client first."
Irene smiled, but she was actually a little bit worried to face the board members without her husband.
After all, they were like a bunch of hungry wild lions. They would judge her secretly, trying to value her.
"Mrs. Delacroix, please sit here." A middle aged man pulled a chair near the chairman's chair. He smiled broadly and his eyes formed a crescent moon.
"Mrs. Delacroix, I've peeled an apple for you."
"Are you cold? I can lower the air temperature for you."
Irene looked at them in horror. Where did the hungry lions go? Why the board members treated her so sweetly and no one judged her at all.
