"Sleep on the couch, and you might wake up with a broken finger. Dare me, Sylus." 

I stared at her, wondering what I'd gotten myself into. "You're really crazy. "

"And I said I know that, find something new." Harley groaned at me and got comfortable under the covers of the bed. "It's not my fault my father threw me at you instead of my sisters." There was a sharp edge to her words at that last sentence, pulling a frown from me. 

I sighed with resignation and laid back there for a few minutes, just staring at the ceiling. Amadeo was going to regret kicking me over like this. He knew the kind of trouble he was dumping on me and still did it.

My hands involuntarily balled into fists, and I turned my head at the sudden sound of heavy breathing.
