"Mom and Dad have been looking at different properties since you came, and they finally bought this one. The place is very close to school, so it would be convenient for you. I thought of bringing you here to surprise them."

He rubbed the back of his neck. "We know that you've been staying at your own place during the holidays, but we're hoping that you could stay with us. That way, we'd feel more at ease, and mom's been waiting to cook for you too."
