"A week??" Madeline looked dumbfounded that she hardly believed it. "What… What time is it?" She asked, and Cassian, who still noticed how weak she was, assisted her in laying back down before responding.
"It's getting close to Midnight." He said, as if he had already been keeping tabs of when she was going to wake up and counting the days that sluggishly passed by. Madeline felt a dull pain in her head, and she finally complied, resting her head back on the soft pillow and closing her eyes for a brief moment.
It felt good to wake up and find herself back home, rather than a dark cave that reminded her of the horrors it entailed.
She presently wished they could return back to Carmarthen and see Mother, she wondered how Oliver was doing too, and the Duke? Frederick, Adeline, she missed all of them so much, and Madeline knew her emotions were in a frenzy state at this point, but she wished she had all of them by her side as well.
