Chapter 128: "Because of the Daffodils"

Jerissa gulped, as Ezekiel's voice lingered in her head. There was this sexiness in his tone even though he was only ordering her to say his name louder.

Ugh, she must be crazy! Even though the king asked his nickname to be called casually, she must not think such odd thoughts!

But the viscountess knew him well. Ezekiel would only pester her until she obeyed. She might even be given a royal order again just to make her follow.

"Kiel!" she closed her eyes, "You are too close!"

There was a very long silence.

Why did he stop talking? Oh no, what if Jerissa offended the king?

She slowly opened her eyes. To her surprise, she did not see him in front of her.

And when she turned around, the king covered her with a brown fur shawl.

"You're going to catch a cold with that dress," he sighed, as he fixed the shawl on her shoulders, "Go to your room and rest. It will be a long day tomorrow."
