Chapter 117: "An Incompetent King"

"Don't worry, that was in the past. After Ely and Maro left, I treated you as my son. And I planned on crowning you as heir, regardless of whether Ely returns or not," Adam gave a kind smile, "In my eyes, you will always be my son, Ezekiel... Always."

The king's tears finally fell on his cheeks. He was not an emotional type of person, but when it came to his foster father, sometimes he could lose his fortitude.

"Now, Ezekiel. You have to make up for your wrong decisions. Why don't you release the rebels?"

Observing Ezekiel's quietness, Adam added, "Why don't you let go of your hatred towards your father? Do you know why I helped him get the artifact in the bell tower?" he smiled, "Because I felt his sincere love for his family. He was willing to give up the throne and gave up being the rebel king just to be with Ely, Marvella, and hopefully, with you."
