Chapter 28: Chapter 28: Trapped

Mary walked down the sidewalk, flexing her acting skills and pretending to be completely entranced with whatever nonsense Donny was spewing about the different sites and spots they passed on the way to her hotel. Perhaps, if circumstances and situations were better, she might have been more inclined to be interested in the city. She had to admit that the pub she went to was a nice spot and that bartender, Rowan, was nice enough.

‘A very strong maybe.’ Mary thought as they closed in on her hotel.

“Well,” she said sweetly, “this is me.”

“Downright shame.” Donny feigned a pout. “I was very much enjoying our time together.”

Mary looked a little thoughtful before donning a small, mischievous smile. “I don’t usually do this, but I don’t know what it is about you.” She said shyly. “Would you…would you like to come up for a drink? I could make you one of my Nawlins specialties, give you a little taste of my neck of the woods.”
