Chapter 460: Aftermath

Mariam sat in front of the mirror caressing her face. The more she looked at it, the more beautiful she used to feel. 

Not anymore. She no longer felt like the most beautiful person to exist because she had another who had the same features. It wasn't the knowledge of a twin that dwindled her charm in her eyes. 

Rather, it was the last memories she had of the one person who shared similar features with her. She thought she would be happier. 

She imagined for years how much happier she would feel with Maimuna gone. She never realized that it was her twin's existence that gave her the confidence she carried every day.

She had a purpose while Maimuna was alive. Putting her down and breaking her daily was the purpose. Her younger twin's tears and pain fed her hate and made her feel better about herself.

It has been almost a year and a half now since Maimuna's demise. These days, the princess never spent a second without thinking about her twin.
