"A suspect has been caught, you don't have to worry about it anymore, seventh sister." He answered with a beam while his eyes were still on his twenty brother.
"Brother Mi, I want to exchange notes with you," Ah Yue Fan said.
Everyone was stunned. Ah Yue Fan wouldn't challenge anyone without a reason and he never had bad blood with his twentieth brother, unless he heard his confession a while ago. The people gasped when they thought of that possibility.
'This troublemaker!' they thought.
"Third brother, pardon this big bother for today, this brother doesn't want to fight." Mi said, even though he knew that he had made a big mistake, he chose to avoid fighting.
Confessing love for the master, making an attempt on his life, turning down a challenge from him, and purposely letting him win, are four things that would drive Ah Yue Fan crazy.
As expected, Yue Fan's beaming face froze for a moment before he smiled again. "Brother Mi, how could you say that? This brother wants to compare notes with you and you are turning me down? You are making me sad and you know what happens when I get sad." While talking, he still maintained that smiling face– just like a cute child, but everyone knows that Ah Yue Fan was far from being cute.
Mi sighed. "Third brother, as you wish. Let's head to the battleground."
"Certainly not, brother Mi. What would the juniors think of me if I lose? They won't have respect for me anymore and you know we both don't want that," Yue Fan frowned.
When the people heard him, they almost choked on their saliva, including Ah Yue Mi. 'This stupid bully!!' he yelled in his heart.
Ah Yue Fan was the third most powerful disciple in the sword of death assassin guild. The first is Cheng, the second is Rong, and the devil– Ah Yue Fan, being the third person.
So who in their right mind would want to exchange notes with him? Even the top two are scared of exchanging notes with him because he is too persistent and makes things extremely difficult for them even though they would still beat him in the end.
Yet, he would be the one laughing because he had drained them of their energy. He is known for his words– If I can't beat you, I won't let you have the energy to celebrate your victory!
So, what happens when a less powerful person like Mi fights him? Isn't that bullying?
….
At the Capital…
Rong who had been on the road for a week and a few days finally arrived at the massive brown gate supported firmly by tall and strong walls.
She appeared to be worn out with a bag on her back. She had been on a week and five days journey, only stopping when she had to eat or sleep.
Although she appeared that way, her uniform was spotless and her hair was in place except for the strands that were blown around by the wind while she was on her horse.
She looked from the gate to the walls and didn't know what to do. The wall was so tall that it would be difficult to climb, the reason why she has not made an attempt since she has been here.
She didn't know that the Capital's walls had been raised and the gate also had been changed. 'Useless emperor!' she cursed in her heart.
After a few more minutes of thinking, she decided that climbing over the talk walls would be the only option, so she glanced at her horse which was tied to a tree and was grazing the grass. 'Keeping you here will cause me more trouble' she thought and walked towards it.
She untied the rope and slapped the horse on its butt with her unsheathed sword, prompting the horse to neigh loudly and run towards where it came from.
She had bought that house from a nearby town while leaving her horse in the hands of an innkeeper who was also a disciple of the guild.
She wondered why the innkeeper didn't tell her that the Capital's security had been increased in folds, or was he dealing with too many problems to remember?
Whatever the case might be, Rong's priority was to get into the gate and hand the poison to Ah Yue Jin.
She secured her sword on her back and walked towards the wall. Touching it, the surface was smooth, too smooth for anyone to climb.
Rong balled her hands so tightly that green veins could be seen on the back of her hands. She wanted to scream in frustration, she wanted to rain curses on the evil emperor and the useless ministers that supported this rotten idea, but she couldn't.
The first reason was that she didn't know how to show too much emotion, secondly, she didn't know how to curse. When she's frustrated or angry at a person, she directly goes for their head and if it's a disciple who offended her, Yue Fan would seek justice for her.
Rong suddenly started to miss that devil. If he was here, he would have long found a solution.
Rong gave up and decided to stay outside the gate until morning when the gate was opened to the citizens. Moreover, it's almost dawn.
Finally coming to a decision, she changed from her black clothes to blue robes and styled her hair to give her a young man's look. Good that she bought those clothes and a few others on the way here.
At dawn, the gate was opened just like every other day.
Rong watched from the tree where she slept as the people formed a long line as they presented a wooden plate to the guards after they had been thoroughly checked and looked at herself. 'was it good to be dressed as a man or a woman?' she asked herself.
The men were being mercilessly searched and sometimes their clothes would be raised, to reveal their pale skin. It felt like they were looking for someone.
