“What are we going to do?” Lee whispered softly. Although he was normally filled with bravado, it was impossible not to feel nervous when being surrounded by these many people.”
A tall, black-clad figure with a red headband stepped forward. She seemed to be the leader of the bandits.
In a loud voice, she called out, “Surrender now and we promise to let you leave alive. If not, we won’t hold back, even against boys as young as you.”
For a moment, Vic hesitated. He was seriously considering the former option. Was their reputation worth getting injured or even potentially losing their lives?
He just didn’t know.
But there was no time to deliberate about this. They were in the middle of a fight, and a split-second decision had to be made.
Ultimately, he knew that between his dignity and the safety of his teammates, there was only one choice he could make.
