Chapter 40: Family and the scroll

"Deimos, they have arrived." It was Conrado's voice that pulled him out of his thoughts.

He turned with a smile on his face and then walked with Conrado to a place where some people were standing.

"Deimos!!!" A fairly petite woman with brunette hair came running towards Deimos and embraced him tightly. 

Deimos hugged him back as he said, "How have you been, Caroline?"

"I have been the best and I have news!" She said, her eyes sparkling with immense joy. 

"Really? What would it be?" 

She looked back and a tall man with olive skin approached her. He had a warm expression on his face as he put an arm around her. She took Deimos's hand and brought it closer to her belly as she said.

"You're going to be an uncle soon, Deimos!" 

He was left in awe after the words left her mouth. Scooping her off the ground, he spun her around in happiness. 

"Hey put me down!" she cried playfully and he did as she said.
