The extremely saddened look that fogged up the hope shining in her eyes when he told her his answer came back to him too clearly than he would have preferred.

“Your little sister is desperately searching for you so if you’re ever going to wake up, this might be a great time to do so…” he whispered as he kept his eyes on Roxanna’s sleeping face.

Roxanna showed no signs of waking up or acknowledging any of the prince’s words. Darius let out a soft sigh before averting his gaze from her face. Staring at her too much only reminded him of the woman who counted herself as her younger sister.

“Your little sister is very bold…and brave…” Darius said before his lips curved into a grin.
