The black magician let out a resigned sigh realizing that his magic was ineffective. He didn't know whether this substitute was a stronger mage or had given complete trust in Xavier.

Surprisingly, the black magician didn't feel any opposition from within himself. He was unwilling to eliminate this soul link, for he would die instantly. But why did his body not retaliate?
