Chapter 1: Prologue
Alpha Ryan was the alpha of the Raza pack, one of the strongest packs in the world. He was a kind- hearted man, loved by all members of his pack. He had taken over the pack at 21 years old when his father, the former alpha of the pack had died during an attack by a neighboring pack, they had won the fight but lost their alpha and beta. Alpha Ryan's mother decided to leave the pack and go out and explore for she could not handle staying at the pack with all her late husband's memories, so she along with the delta and his mate left the leadership to Ryan, Sam, the beta's son and Andy, the delta's daughter.
The new rulers decided that they did not want any more bloodshed for they had lost enough member to the war hence made a decision to make peace treaties with neighboring packs. The three new leaders spread out throughout the land signing treaties with other packs and find new allies.
It was during these missions that Alpha Ryan found his soul mate and the woman that he would love for the rest of his life. Her name was Emma, she was the daughter of the alpha of the Knight Shadow pack, the most feared and powerful pack in the world, Alpha Ryan had to fight one of the pack warriors to prove that he could take care of Emma, a battle he won and took Emma back home with him.
The Raza pack members were happy to meet their new Luna and welcomed her with open arms. Luna Emma had been nervous to move so far from home for the Knight Shadow pack was a 10hour long flight from the Raza pack, but after the warm welcome she got, she was happy to stay.
Alpha Ryan and Luna Emma took care of the pack together and were happy, it was very peaceful. They had tried having a child for year now but sadly the Luna would always have a miscarriage. Years had passed with countless miscarriages that the Luna had given up on ever having a child. After Five years of miscarriages, she had been informed by the doctors that she could no longer conceive a child, the news broke her heart and she prayed for the moon goddess to please give her a child.
It had been 15 year since Alpha Ryan found Luna Emma, they still had no heir and had lost hope of ever having a child of their own, they were now thinking of adoption.
Luna Emma was at the Pack orphanage entertaining the children with songs and stories when she felt dizzy, she had not been feeling well lately, she tried ignoring it as she had done so many times before, but she couldn't, so she finished telling the children the story and headed to the pack infirmary.
Later that day, Alpha Ryan found his mate and love pacing their room with an unreadable. He tried telling her to relax and calm down but she was too nervous and terrified to calm down. He finally calmed her down enough for her to tell him that she was one month pregnant, and now he was the one pacing the room. The couple could not believe it, for they had lost all hope. They decided to keep it a secret for the meantime in case of disappointment. They hired a witch to hide the Luna's scent.
Eight months later and the alpha was pacing the hospital room after being kicked out of the maternity wing for making the doctors and nurse nervous, although no one could blame him for he had waited for 15 years for his first child. Hours after the Luna had been taken to the maternity room, a cry was heard, little Amari (miracle from God) had been born.
The alpha ran toward the cry and held the delicate baby girl in his arms while smiling. The couple was happy to welcome little Amari Azalea Black into their small family. The couple had decided to inform the pack members of the birth of the next heir, so they planned a pack meeting to make the announcement.
The Raza pack was gathered, anxious to know what the alpha wanted. Alpha Ryan went in front of his people, the smile on his face informing the people that the news he would deliver would be good news.
Alpha Ryan was about to speak when alarms started going off and the pack guard let out warning howls, they were under attack. Alpha Ryan was fast to react and instructed for the women and children to go to safety while he and the pack warriors went to fight the enemy. Alpha Ryan did his best to protect his pack but the enemy was too powerful and had surrounded them. The leader of the pack that attacked them, Alpha jack killed him along with the delta and beta and all pack warriors. He then demanded for the Luna and killed her too. He only spared the weak men and women and the children. A day that had started off as joyous turned somber.
Alpha Jack took over the Raza pack and changed its name to Silver Claw Pack. The women he had spared were taken to be wives to his soldiers. Children who had been orphaned and were above 12 years old were taken away and forced to earn a living and bring money to the alpha. They did all types of degrading jobs. The rest of the children (7 to 12) were taken to a boarding school where boys were trained to be future soldiers and girls were trained on house chores and how to be good future wives. The Raza pack members were miserable. Only two orphaned children were left at the pack house for they were too young to do anything, little Amara was one of the two for she had only been a few days old, the other child was Axel, the late beta's last born son who had been only 2years old.
