Lorraine's POV:
"I would think about it," I said as I moved some steps away from him. Although I already knew what my answer was. We could never be together.
"You have until evening. I may not be in this pack for long, so I need to know if I should stay and fight for us" he said.
"Don't stay" I screamed in my mind but said "Then you'll have your answer but then. Let me leave you now to rest. There will be dinner this evening. I will prepare some clothes and send them to you before time"
"When I come to take you for dinner. I'll give you my answer" I said and left the room.
As I stepped out, I quickly remembered that I had not yet informed the lady that there would be a banquet with the lords.
I did not want to tell Damien because they wanted him to see how the system in this pack worked. Let him discover how it is.
I sent for a maid and told her to inform the lady about the banquet. I wanted to go to my room as I was exhausted.
The greatest battles are fought within oneself, and the choices we make in the midst of conflicting desires and duties will shape our future and define who we truly are.
