Chapter 52: Memory's lane

Dora held Archi and her fruits she had just picked, wrapped up in her shawl. She was still surprised, that Archi had spoken to her.

She was still in a daze, as she got home. Nyx had finished setting the table and was waiting for them to arrive.

"Oh, Dora, finally, are you done picking those fruits?"

Dora didn't respond, she only put Archi on the chair, dropped the fruits on the table and went inside.

She creased her brows, "Why is her countenance suddenly down? She was very happy when she went to get fruits."

She faced Archi, who just darted his large eyes around.

"Dora? Will you not come out for supper?"

"No, I am okay."

"Why? At least come have a few spoons."

"Do not worry about me, I am okay Nyx," she said softly.

"Dora..."

"Please, I am okay," she quickly cut in.

Nyx was surprised, but decided best not to push it further.
