At the same time, Ryder was talking about the same house fire to Gideon as he rode with him towards the airport. 

"I... I'm sorry, but I... I just don't understand it." Ryder muttered with the same dismay beneath his stunned gaze. 

As his dull gaze kept staring ahead, he recalled the unexpected phone call coming from his uncle Ariel.

In his somewhat frantic voice, Ariel told Ryder to ask Gabriel where his mother Jules Carter currently was. 

Ryder refused Ariel's request at first because he didn't want to do it without knowing the reason. Besides, it would only make him look stupid and weird as hell for asking such a question out of nowhere.

In the end, Ariel finally told Ryder about the biggest mistake that Robert had committed in the past.

"W-What are you talking about...?" His phone nearly slipped off his hand when he listened to the story Ariel told him. "N-No... it's impossible..."
