Gracia walked back to the table looking dejected, bumping to some shoulders but the blank gaze never left her eyes, numbed by the growing fear inside.

But now's not the time for that. The most important thing was she had to find a way out!

She straightened her posture and sat back in her seat facing Ryley. "Mr. Ryley, I will investigate the matter with the journalists in the hospital. Once I find out who sent them there... I will let you know." 

Her eyes were bright with sincerity, though beneath it was pure terror, and the pleading in her voice was clear as she continued, "But I swear to you, I have nothing to do with your kidnapping incident."

After pondering for a while, Ryley thought that Gracia's words made sense. But he still reminded her, "Miss Clark, please remember that someone found out I was going to attend the banquet. This person definitely knew that you wanted to send me a car to pick me up then took advantage of it."
