Mila smiled and greeted guests. She could see and feel Josiah checking in on her. Her calm facade did not waiver.

Sloane had asked her to usher guests in as they arrived last minute because her PA was suffering from alcohol poisoning from the bachelorette party the night before.

Of course, the Beta female could not say no to the woman of the hour. The irony was that even though Mila was not yet married to Josiah, many pack members were already addressing her as the Beta female.

It was one of the few things that she had over Sloane. Compared to snagging the man of her dreams, it seemed paltry. The guests were arriving in waves which ebbed and flowed every few minutes.

After half an hour, Mila excused herself to go to the bathroom.

She felt a mental tug. ‘Milz, are you okay?’

‘Yeah, just resting my feet after standing in heels for hours. I’m also going to powder my nose,’ she responded calmly.
