Chapter 148: Trust

ZINA

"You trust me?" Zina repeated in disbelief. "You've always held a grudge for my lies against you which is totally understandable. But ever since then, you've always had doubts about my words."

Frustration claimed his features once again as he ran his free hand against his face. "Must you make me say the words myself?"

Zina stared at him confused, not knowing what she was meant to implicitly understand. She admits that she wasn't exactly the brightest when it came to reading people's emotions, but Daemon was entirely a different matter.

One second, he was hot, and then for ten seconds he was cold.

"I am a harsh man, Zina. Not exactly one of my strongest traits, but I do admit I have a knack for saying things I don't mean just for the fun of saying it."

Zina simply continued to stare at him, stunned at the weight of his confession. 

"So you trust me?"
