Honestly, Zina wasn't the compendium of self preservation and restraint. In the sparse knowledge she had of herself, she knew that when it came to restraining herself from speaking when she really wanted to speak was a fool's sojourn. 

So it wasn't that surprising that out of the many things she could easily tolerate, hearing some woman that was way too beautiful than normal speak to Daemon without the respect he deserved ticked her off and brought out an ugly side of her.
