The man looked at the young man seen in the rift and said, "You shall be the inheritor."
The man then sighed as he brought up information related to the man he could see through the rift.
"I see. A soul that has transmigrated into the true inheritor's body? Not a problem at all, as long as the person understands his purpose, then that's all good for me," the man nodded after looking a bit.
"Not to mention, his body has my blood, and an extremely pure form of my blood at that!"
The man couldn't help but rub his chin as he made a small wound on his finger, allowing some of his blood to flow out. He then used his energy to condense these drops of blood into a small red pearl. Not long after, he imbued a wisp of his energy into the red pearl before flicking the pearl towards the rift.
"I'm currently at the Veridical Immortality realm and I'm sure it'll be a long time before I can proceed to the next realm. I'm going to have to go to a life-and-death adventure to ignite my body's potential."
"If I succeed, then that would be good. If I don't..."
"Then this inheritor shall be the successor to my Transcending Zenith Bloodline."
...
Shi clan, Shi Li's courtyard.
A night has passed and the sun is up on the sky, giving vitality to the plants and trees that bask in its warm glow. While within Shi Li's courtyard, Shi Li's eyes finally opened up as his eyes flashed with a bright light.
'Compared to before, I can see even clearer now and hear better now,' Shi Li smiled as he examined the progress of his soul. At the moment, his soul is now 35% part stone, which would put him at the middle of the first stage.
Afterwards, he tried to stand up and surprisingly, he was able to stand up. At the first attempt of his cultivation, he couldn't move a single muscle after cultivating, but now, he was able to move just fine, albeit slowly.
'Maybe it has something to do with my mind having a far easier time in visualizing the tempering process?' Shi Li hypothesized before putting it at the back of his mind.
He then proceeded to the dining area to grab some food before walking towards the strength measuring pillar in his courtyard's training space.
...
"I wonder how much stronger I've gotten," Shi Li muttered to himself, "Though I'm sure it won't be much of a leap." Shi Li then bitterly laughed at himself as he bent his knees.
He then clenched his fist as he channeled the strength of his soul towards the end of his fist. He gave a loud shout as his punch landed squarely on the strength measuring pillar, giving out a sound that was considerably louder compared to before.
The strength measuring pillar then exuded a faint white glow before a number slowly materialized in front of it, showing Shi Li his current strength.
4.
Shi Li looked at this and lightly smiled at his progress. In just one day of steadfast cultivation, he was able to increase his strength by 4 times, considering that the strength of the old Shi Li before he transmigrated was only 1 ren.
He then went back to the living room area and sat cross-legged once more. At this point in time, he didn't want to cultivate his soul anymore since it sapped a lot of his body's energy. Plus, he had a feeling that if he continued to cultivate his soul, it might end up becoming detrimental to his body.
And so he decided to pick up the [Iron Vessel Tempering Manual] and take a gander.
Flipping through the introductory pages of the manual, Shi Li skimmed through the content before shuddering in fear at the thought of his cultivation. If the [Steel Body Manual] was crazy for thinking that a soul should be tempered like steel, then this [Iron Vessel Tempering Manual] was also in the same line of crazy.
Instead of visualizing the process of tempering, the cultivator must have to hammer their bodies multiple times, giving it the feeling of 'being tempered'. The hits that would strike their body would then be spread throughout all over the cultivator's body through a special technique written on the manual, allowing the cultivator to eventually obtain a body as tough as iron.
Shi Li continued to look at the content written in the manual and saw that it had the same line of thought as the [Steel Body Manual].
Once the skin attains the toughness of iron, the cultivator has reached the peak of the first stage. Once the muscles attain the toughness of iron, the cultivator has reached the peak of the second stage. And once the tendons attain the toughness of iron, the three will become unified and signify that the cultivator is at the peak of the third stage, allowing the cultivator to proceed to the Martial Adept stage.
After reading the manual, he closed it and placed it on a nearby table as he shuddered in fear for his future method of cultivation. If he continued to cultivate the techniques that had the same characteristics as the techniques he currently cultivated up to the Martial Lord realm, he might become a masochist, gaining pleasure from the pain he received. And Shi Li didn't have that kind of fetish of course, he just wanted to get stronger.
So he decided to aim for the peak of the first stage on his soul first before cultivating his body.
He took a few bites of the food he brought from the dining area and closed his eyes once more, continuing the incessant tempering of his soul up until nighttime.
...
Shi clan, Shi Li's courtyard.
The moon hung up on the starry sky as if it was the ardent sun bringing light to the azure sky. At this moment, Shi Li opened his eyes with a smile in his face as he knew that he had progressed in his cultivation once more.
Peering into his soul, he noticed that his soul is now 45% part stone, which meant that he was nearing the late stage of the first stage. In just over a day, he was already at the late stage of the first stage. If anyone were to hear this, they would totally faint from shock and call Shi Li a monster. But of course, if they heard that Shi Li had a Quasi-World level aptitude, they would instead praise him as a genius.
As usual, he proceeded to walk towards the strength measuring pillar in order to see how much improvement in terms of ren did he get. But as he walked towards the said pillar, a red light fell from the skies, catching Shi Li's attention.
"What the..." Shi Li looked at the red light's path and saw that it would land within the Shi clan.
"Should I..." At that moment, Shi Li felt conflicted as to whether he should chase the light and see what it was or continue cultivating.
"Bah, I would probably regret it if it was actually some sort of heavenly treasure and it fell onto another person's hands."
And with that, he released all of his current strength and sprinted towards the possible landing spot of the red light.
What could that red light be? Would it actually be some sort of heavenly treasure?
Note: This is also a backlog chapter as I'm preparing to take some time to do work
