Leo and Ariana stayed at the resistance group's camp for a week, preparing for the attack on the fortress. They trained with the resistance group, learning their tactics and strategies. They also bonded with them, learning their stories and cultures.
They trained hard every day, from dawn till dusk. They practiced their moves and skills, they sparred with each other and their mentors, they tested their limits and strengths. They improved their performance and confidence, they honed their abilities and potential, they increased their power and speed.
They also bonded with the resistance group, learning their stories and cultures. They talked with them during meals and breaks, they listened to them during nights and fires, they shared with them during joys and sorrows.
They learned that the resistance group was composed of dragonkin from different clans and tribes, who had joined forces against the mage. They learned that each clan had its own history and tradition, its own color and symbol, its own leader and role.
They learned that Rax was the leader of the Red Clan, the largest and oldest clan of dragonkin. He was a warrior and a king, who had fought many battles and ruled many lands. He was respected and feared by all dragonkin, who called him the Red Dragon.
They learned that Ryn was the leader of the Green Clan, the smallest and youngest clan of dragonkin. He was a scout and a spy, who had explored many places and learned many secrets. He was liked and trusted by all dragonkin, who called him the Green Eye.
They learned that there were other clans too, such as the Blue Clan of scholars and mages, the Yellow Clan of healers and artisans, the White Clan of priests and prophets.
They learned that each clan had its own strengths and weaknesses, its own allies and enemies, its own hopes and dreams.
They learned that they all had one thing in common: they all hated the mage.
They learned that the mage had been their enemy for centuries, ever since he had stolen the Dragon's Eye from them. They learned that he had used it to enslave their brethren, turning them into his mindless minions. They learned that he had used them to wage war on humans, destroying their villages and towns.
They learned that they had tried to stop him many times before, but they had always failed. They learned that he had killed many of their friends and family members, leaving them orphaned or widowed. They learned that he had taken away their freedom and dignity, leaving them oppressed or exiled.
They learned that they had never given up hope or courage though. They learned that they had always fought back or resisted. They learned that they had always waited for a chance or a sign.
They learned that they had found it in Leo's Starblade.
They learned that it was the only weapon that could destroy the Dragon's Eye.
They learned that it was the only hope that could save them all.
They became friends with the resistance group, earning their respect and gratitude. They laughed with them during jokes and games, they cried with them during losses and pains, they cheered with them during victories and celebrations.
They became part of the resistance group, joining their cause and mission. They pledged with them during oaths and vows, they planned with them during meetings
and discussions.
Leo and Ariana participated in a raid on a supply convoy that belonged to the mage. They joined a team of ten dragonkin, led by Ryn, who had scouted the convoy's route and timing. They waited for the convoy to pass by a narrow valley, where they ambushed it from both sides.
The convoy consisted of a dozen wagons, guarded by two dozen soldiers and four dragons. The wagons carried weapons and supplies, such as swords and shields, food and water, potions and scrolls. The soldiers wore metal armor and helmets, and carried spears and crossbows. The dragons were large and fierce, and breathed fire and smoke.
The raiders attacked the convoy with surprise and speed. They used their swords and bows, their spells and charms, their fire and ice. They targeted the soldiers and the wagons first, killing or wounding them, destroying or stealing them. They avoided the dragons as much as possible, knowing that they were too strong and dangerous.
Leo and Ariana fought bravely and skillfully. Leo used his Starblade to cut through the soldiers' armor and flesh, leaving them dead or dying. Ariana used her magic to cast fireballs and lightning bolts, setting them on fire or shocking them. They also helped each other out, covering each other's backs.
They managed to steal some weapons and supplies, loading them on their horses or backpacks. They also freed some prisoners, who were chained to the wagons. They were human villagers, who had been captured by the mage's forces. They were grateful to the raiders, who gave them some food and water, and told them to run away.
They were about to retreat, when they heard a loud roar.
They looked up, and saw that one of the dragons had noticed them.
It was a red dragon, the largest and fiercest of the four. It had scales as hard as steel, claws as sharp as blades, teeth as big as daggers. It had eyes as bright as fire, wings as wide as clouds, a tail as long as a whip.
It was angry and hungry.
It flew towards them, breathing fire.
It said to them,
"How dare you attack my master's convoy? You will pay for your insolence!"
The raiders panicked.
They said to each other,
"Oh no! It's a dragon! What do we do?"
Ryn said to them,
"Run! Run for your lives!"
He turned his horse around, and galloped away.
The other raiders followed him.
They ran away from the dragon, hoping to escape.
But the dragon was faster than them.
It chased them down the valley, spitting fire at them.
It hit some of them with its fire, burning them alive.
It hit some of them with its claws, tearing them apart.
It hit some of them with its teeth, biting them in half.
It hit some of them with its tail, smashing them into pieces.
It killed half of them in minutes.
Leo and Ariana were among the survivors.
They dodged the dragon's attacks, using their skills and luck.
They also fought back, using their weapons and magic.
Leo swung his Starblade at the dragon's head, hoping to cut it off.
Ariana cast a freezing spell at the dragon's wings, hoping to freeze them solid.
But their efforts were in vain.
The dragon was too strong for them.
It shrugged off their attacks, as if they were nothing.
It laughed at their attempts, as if they were jokes.
It said to them,
"Foolish mortals! You think you can harm me with your toys? You think you can stop me with your tricks? You are nothing but insects to me! I will crush you like bugs!"
It continued to chase them down the valley.
It continued to kill them one by one.
It continued to enjoy its hunt.
Leo and Ariana realized that they had no chance of escaping or defeating the dragon.
They realized that they were going to die.
They looked at each other with fear and sadness.
Leo braced himself, waiting for the final blow, but he didn't feel anything. he opened his eyes and saw the Ariana had cast a spell on the dragon that made it stop moving. It would only last for a couple of hours, so they both hurried back to the resistance base.
