In mid-December, students and teachers would typically be going to school while waiting and praying that the Winter holidays would come soon.
No one was an exception to this.
Except for Shido.
Floating in space, Shido was pondering as he stared at the huge satellite.
"And what is this thing doing here? As far as I know, this doesn't belong to any government organizations..."
"Now, what should I do with this?"
"Destroy it?"
"Or use it for my own gain?"
"But what can this do for me anyway?"
As Shido wondered, he looked down towards where the satellite was transmitting the signal and saw his homeland. Or well, his home country.
Japan. And more specifically,
Deika City.
"My, my, how troublesome. What should I do?"
Shido wondered as he looked at the tiny city being treated as the main battlefield. Deciding to leave the satellite as it was, for now, Shido flew back towards Japan, and at the altitude of four thousand kilometers up in the air, he could roughly see the destruction that was going on.
Flying closer, but not close enough for the enemies to spot him, Shido observed as the two sides started to clash. On one side, it was the all-too-familiar league of villains, with the familiar red-haired leader, Himura, standing in the middle proudly.
He didn't seem like he was doing anything, but every single one of the people who came close to him was instantly disintegrated into nothing.
Not even ashes or specks of dust were left behind.
Himura casually walked towards what seemed to be his goal, the tallest tower in the city.
Shido wasn't too keen on helping either side, so he just floated around while rescuing some 'real' and 'actual' victims that were roped into their fight unwillingly.
The Meta Liberation Army.
The Meta Liberation Army, or M.L.A. for short, was a large and powerful villain organization that followed a certain...unique philosophy.
Their philosophy was that the free usage of quirks was a fundamental human right, and it emphasized liberation rather than regulation.
The original Meta Liberation Army was founded and led by the infamous Destro, and the current Army was founded and led by his son Re-Destro.
And within ten minutes, Shido had found out everything he needed to know about both sides, and he was shocked.
Well, he was more surprised than shocked, really. In this 'war' of sorts, Shido was considered the third party, and if he wanted, he could have destroyed both sides easily.
But what would that accomplish?
A moment of peace? An era where Shido reigned terror when everyone found out that he could single-handedly destroy a hundred thousand villains in one go?
Perhaps everyone would be too afraid to commit crimes after this incident, and maybe, just maybe, crimes would plummet due to their fear of Shido. Especially after knowing that he could be in more than one place at the same time.
But so what?
He wasn't going to be here forever, and even if he placed one or two clones down, none of his clones would last longer than a year. He wasn't spending half of his lifespan just to create clones with lifespans as much as his.
So Shido decided to be lazy and let both of his enemies fight against each other and weaken each other first. He would be able to sit back and reap the benefits; indeed, a move that kills two birds with one stone.
So Shido went took out a container filled with popcorns from Haniel and sat on the broom leisurely.
He wondered how the League of Villains planned to win this, especially since the number of members who could fight was less than five.
Himura, Twice, and Dabi. That was all of their fighting power.
Shido had already captured Spinner, the lizard man, Toga the shapeshifter, Mr. Compress the compressor, Magne, Muscular, and Moonfish, the mad prisoner.
He had put those six members of the League of Villains in jail, so Shido really wanted to know where their confidence came from.
Shido also saw Tomura lurking behind Himura, trying his best to touch as many things as possible, only for nothing to happen.
"Well, that's to be expected since I've already sealed his quirk..." Saying out loud to no one in particular, Shido continued munching on his popcorn.
He watched as Dabi fought against the guy with the ice quirk, Cryokinesis.
'What was his name again?' Shido's hands stopped moving as he thought about it before he continued munching his popcorn.
'Oh, yea. Geten.'
Dabi and Geten's fight caused significant damage to their surroundings, and if that wasn't enough, an even bigger area of land suddenly broke apart, revealing even more ice underneath the ground.
Shido sighed at this scene. Can't a fight be more civilized?
They destroyed buildings, the drainage system, the open streets, and the public landscapes. Half was on fire, while the other half was frozen.
Shido wanted to pity the government but then remembered that they were partly at fault as to why there were so many villains in the first place. So Shido just shrugged and chose to wait a bit more before starting his own plan.
If it was possible, Shido's desired outcome was to let those two form into one more prominent organization so that his students could gain more experience in fighting villains.
Shido had a feeling that the fact that his students were going to fight a lot more villains in the future was inevitable, so why not control everything from behind so he would at least know what to expect?
It was at least better than going into a fight blind and unknowledgeable about your enemy.
Dabi and Geten's fight took quite a while, with neither of them managing to get the upper hand. Feeling bored of the same actions of Dabi melting Geten's ice over and over again, Shido shifted his attention to the only other member of the league of villains, Twice.
He saw twice squatting down and holding his head tightly but did nothing else. Just as he was about to feel even more bored, he saw several clones going towards Twice. But what was funny was that those clones had the same face and body shape as Twice himself.
It didn't seem that they were on the same side, so Shido thought they were just puppets made to deal with Twice using his mental trauma. Too bad, if they had just decided to take Twice away without harming him, he wouldn't have overcome his trauma.
Shido watched as the puppets broke Twice's limbs, causing Twice to grin madly and shouting that he had overcome his trauma or something. Shido couldn't really hear what he shouted because he was four thousand kilometers up in the air, but he could roughly guess.
In this three versus a hundred thousand battle, the three seemed to be winning. After twice multiplied himself over and over again, he singlehandedly managed to turn the tides on them.
Literally.
The number of Twice soon exceeded the hundred thousand from the opposite team, and a tide was quickly formed.
In a way, Twice's cloning ability was much better than Shido's. It took less than half an hour before a tide was formed, and it didn't seem that Twice himself used up much energy, which is something Shido couldn't do given that he needed to use his 'time' to create temporal clones.
However, in quality, Shido's was better. Not only do they have firearms and shadow manipulation, but each of them was also a much better fighter and more durable than Twice's clones.
Plus, a single spacequake would wipe out each and every one of Twice's clones, much less a dozen of them. Thus, Shido wasn't too worried about Twice; he only had numbers, nothing more.
Shido hoped that this battle would hurry and end. He had better things to do than to watch this battle, like cuddling with Eri.
However, it wasn't just Twice who was winning his battles. Himura didn't seem to have any problems as well, as no one or attacks could even reach him in the first place. He appeared to waltz in as naturally as though he owned the place.
That was the most significant advantage of having a ranged quirk. Unlike Tomura's quirk, which required him to physically touch his target, Himura didn't need to. All he needed to do was to 'replenish' his cell's vitality by 'sucking' his victim's vitality every once in a while.
Shido frowned a little at that scene but didn't do anything. They were all part of the war, which they wanted to fight, so they had to be prepared to die.
However, what made Shido truly surprised was that Tomura managed to use his quirk.
"What?!" Shido screamed in shock as his popcorn fell from four thousand kilometers in the air.
"Rasiel! Why can Tomura use his quirk!?" Hurriedly taking out his book, he asked loudly.
[It is because you didn't fully seal it. You have the tendency to seal everything just perfectly, not oversealing or undersealing things. However, you misjudged Tenko's strength and assumed that it was his full strength, and only managed to seal that part of the power.
Tenko couldn't use his full strength as it was prevented by his own traumas. Now that the fight's pressure and the fact that his very own twin brother sees him as nothing more than a future nomu, he finally snapped and managed to break free from the seal.
Nothing is absolute in this world, so do not think that your angels are absolute. There were cases where Gabriel's seal has been forcefully unsealed before. Although rare, it has happened before.]
Seeing the long lines of explanation, Shido could only sigh. It turned out that his quirk wasn't just touching and decaying stuff. His 'decay' could spread by itself if another thing or person was in contact with the medium decaying from Tomura's quirk.
"That is dangerous...should I seal it again?"
Shido thought of the pros and cons and ultimately decided not to. If he had really sealed Tomura again, Shido knew that Himura would most definitely make his own brother into a nomu, which would be much harder to deal with, especially if the nomu had enhanced strength, speed, reflexes, and durability to go with his decay quirk.
He didn't know whether the seal would be broken if he was injected with more quirks, but he wasn't going to risk it. As for erasing him now?
Nah.
Let the young heroes try and deal with him first, and if they couldn't, he'll erase the twin brothers then. For now, let them do whatever they want to as long as it doesn't go past the city area.
However, as soon as he decided that, some retard decided to level the entire city.
It seemed that Himura and Tomura managed to work together and combined their moves, destroying the entire city to dust.
"Jesus...these guys need to chill..." Shido sighed before smiling as he erected a barrier, "Well, it's time for me to take my compensation now..."
A purple barrier suddenly encased the entire city. Shido ensured that no one could get in or out after confirming that no ordinary civilians were inside. After that, eleven clones suddenly appeared beside him.
"Alright! It's time for us to collect payment for letting us wait this long." Shido spoke shamelessly.
The clones just rolled their eyes but continued to listen nonetheless.
"Go around the barrier and stay in a position similar to the numbers on a clock. Afterward, activate the other barrier."
Hearing Shido's instructions, the other clones nodded and flew towards their designated location.
After everyone was in position, Shido summoned a reddish-black barrier that covered a part of the city. It wasn't big, but as soon as the barrier touched the other barriers made by Shido's clone, it expanded instantly.
Soon, the twelve barriers became one giant barrier that covered the entire city.
"Hm...let's see. My students have developed some super moves of their own. Maybe I should develop mine as well. Let's call this...The City of Devouring Time."
This reddish-black barrier was pronounced, and everyone in the city beside Deika city was surprised and curious.
Shido found himself being replenished with energy. It felt great, like getting a full-body massage after a tiring day at work.
He could feel his own lifespan increasing bit by bit. Shido didn't plan to take years from all the people inside. With a hundred thousand people multiplied by a year, he would have gotten a hundred thousand years, though 99.9 percent of it would be sent to his angel instead.
"This is my compensation, thank you, League of Villains. No. It should be..." Shido muttered with a smile.
"...the Paranormal Liberation Front now. I look forward to meeting you in the future. Hopefully, you will have time to fatten yourself up before I deliver you to my dear students."

A/N: Although Kurumi calls it that, there was no formal name for this ability in the original. So Shido wouldn't know the name, but he knows he can do that.
Does that make sense? Who cares...
Also, I changed how Zafkiel worked a little. He takes a lot but uses a lot as well, so there were no nerfs or buffs...
